This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.
Oh sweet one
You and me will go ridin'
High, ridge high
Soon they will be callin'
Aw no, i can hear them
Aw yeah, comin' in all directions
Undo the belt of the pines and the wind will flow
Pull down the sky, the stars will fall like stones
Take the crown from the sun and he is bald at sunset
Oh he is bald at sunset, lyin' in a yellow coffin
Oh sweet one
You and me will go ridin'
High, ridge high
Soon they will be comin'
Wake the mountain the ferns will wave
Shake the trees to cover the graves
Walk into the field sleep inside the glade
Darkness is a comin', fallin' like a blade
Oh sweet one
You and me will go ridin'
High, ridge high
Soon they will be callin'
Aw no, i can hear them
Aw yeah, comin' in all directions
Undo the belt of the pines and the wind will flow
Pull down the sky, the stars will fall like stones
Take the crown from the sun and he is bald at sunset
His mistress the moon hides among the berries
Oh sweet one
You and me will go ridin'
High, ridge high
Soon they will be callin'
Oh sweet one
You and me will go ridin'
High, ridge high
Soon they will be callin'
Aw no, i can hear them
Aw yeah, comin' in all directions
You and me will go ridin'
High, ridge high

Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version.
Great version of a great song,
