One, two, three, four
Take a look at what I got
I can't promise you a lot
But you and me
And the road ahead

And I can't save you from yourself
You gotta want it
All that's left is you and me
And the road ahead

Wherever that wind might go
Wherever that river rolls
You know I will go with you

Uh uh

Wherever that wind might go
Wherever that river rolls
You know I will go with you

Oh oh oh
Lookin' over the mountain's crown
The water roars and tumbles down
Like you and me
And the road ahead

Just you and me
And the road ahead
Yeah

General Commentwow no comments...this is my fav off the Last DJ album.
i like how this song is done by tom petty and the heartbreakers in such a dignified manner. the song rings pure and simple, just how i think love should be.

General CommentOn an album that starts with such bile against the recording industry, it's kind of a surprise when this beautiful little gem appears. Just a straightforward song about the beginning of a committed relationship played against one of the sweetest melodies in the Petty catalog.
