All night staring at the ceiling
counting for minutes I've been feeling this way
So far away and so alone

But you know it's alright
I came to my senses
Letting go of my defenses
There's no way I'm giving up this time
Yeah, you know I'm right here
I'm not losing you this time

And I'm all in, nothing left to hide
I'm falling harder than a landslide
I spend a week away from you last night
And now I'm calling, calling out your name
Even if I lose the game, I'm all in
I'm all in tonight, yeah I'm all in, I'm all in for life

There's no taking back what we've got
Too strong, we've had each other's back for too long
There's no breaking up this time
And you know it's okay, I came to my senses
Letting go of my defenses
There's no way I'm giving up this time

And I'm all in, nothing left to hide
I'm falling harder than a landslide
I spend a week away from you last night
And now I'm calling, calling out your name
Even if I lose the game, I'm all in
I'm all in tonight, yeah I'm all in, I'm all in for life

I want it, I want it, I want it
I want it, I want it, I want it, yeah
I want it, I want it, I want it, yeah

And I'm all in, calling out your name
Even if I lose the game, I'm all in, I'm all in for life
And I'm all in, nothing left to hide
I'm falling harder than a landslide
I spend a week away from you last night
And now I'm calling, calling out your name
Even if I lose the game, I'm all in
I'm all in tonight, yeah I'm all in, I'm all in for life
Yeah I'm all in, I'm all in for life

AH THIS SONG.. haha i love Lifehouse i love every song Jason has ever written whether it was with the band or solo. i think he has alot of more powerful lyrics but for some reason THIS song is my very favorite. i get chills everytime i hear

Standing on top of the world tonight No one's looking back at you Stand tall, it's going on, it's going on It's gonna be just fine You're holding on, holding on today

when my life is just chaotic and i feel like im in a never ending mess and cannot control anything not even my own emotions i just mentally picture myself being pulled away from all the chaos and being put high above it. the line no one's looking back at you to me means you are in control, i know there are many other ways to interpret that line ha but thats how i like to think it and then of course stand tall its gonna be just fine your holding on. I LOVE THIS SONG!

Things don't stop And the others announce they're moving on Salt and tears in the minds and the mouths of a bad decision Too late for another mistake It's bringing you down With all your faults, it isn't your fault What's going on

That part means so much to me & it puts lyrics to something I'm currently going through. Recently I had just found out that 5 of my closest friends had started a tasteless joke about me for NO reason at all other than me being a good friend. (I never bad mouth them once was always there when they needed me ect) I had found out about it from a third party and they promised they would stop but those words were only said after I had found out and they blantley lied to my face Those 5 people I had hoped to continue my friendship after we had graduated but sadly because of this event they not only have lost my trust but probably me as a great friend to them.

Anywho I think the song talks about how we all hit rough patches in life and those situations help us grow as a person no matter how much it hurts at the time. Yea we make think its the whole world is going to end but we just have to somehow pick ourselves up again & put one foot in front of the other.

I love this song...one of my favorites from Lifehouse. I think it's just about realizing that no matter what situation you're in, whether it be just a bad day or a bad month or year, things are going to eventually straighten out. Everyday is a new opportunity to work towards getting things right again. I also think it has spiritual/Biblical references. Like in this verse..

"So you lost yourself So you lost your way Found life through someone else But you threw it all away"

It could be talking about anything when it says "so you lost yourself, so you lost your way." Perhaps someone lost their faith in God, or just their faith in themselves. "Found life through someone else"...I definitely see how it can be a relationship but I also see it as finding life through Jesus Christ, where He offers you everything you could ever need, but for whatever reason, you reject it.

Either way, it's a great song!

The very best Lifehouse song. It's about when when you falling down, you can get back and if you hold on, it's going to be fine after all.

Lifehouse rocks! I think this song is saying when you feel like nothings going right, don't give up, tomorrow is a new day.

I think this song is saying that they there are going to be bad things happening everyday but the only way to get through them is to realize that its going to be fine and you'll make it through. It seems like I usually make it through things that I never thought I would and then I look back and wish that I would've realized then that things would turn out right. Usually in the end things do turn out how they're supposed to.

this song is so creative, i think its about independence. You're in a relationship yet you still can hold on to your independence. All in all your still the same you in the end of the day.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.
