I like the universe, but she messes with my words
I'm not talking planets or galaxies and the distance just makes it worse.
I know what you're thinking, this probably sounds rehearsed.

So let's give it up for the New Year
Did this party of two have you slightly confused?
Now that our things are divided
She refuses to speak and I'm driftin' to sleep at the wheel.

Liquids, powders and pills, not quite against my will.
The tastes test of girls, from all over the world
who refuse to except my excuses.
She put up with so much of my madness and my self-abuse
She would tend to my wounds and fill me with food when I'd stumble and drunk for breakfast,
She was right to take off before she was consumed

You're totally right, every action was well rehearsed.

he definately says "did this party of 2 have you slightly confused? now that our things are divided" its about him and his girlfriend who is 18 and hes 28. thats why it says the part about the party of two and people being confused about it. the whole song is about new years eve when he went on a total cocaine binge and she had to bring him to the hospital like 4 times.

I like this song a lot. I'm probably wrong, but I took it as a song that means things are changing. I think it means that a new stage of life is beginning, and the old life is kind of missed, but he's ready to face the new situation. Well, that's how I took it.

I think this song is about how some girl wants to break up with him cause she is sick of dealing with his shit. She helpes him all the time"She would tend to my wounds, And fill me with food when I stumble in drunk for breakfast." The beginning part means "I like the universe," like he likes his life "But she messes with my words." that she controls him but he doesn't realize how much he needs her "I’m not talking planets or galaxies," he doens't hink its that complicated "And the distance just makes it worse." means that finds out that he does need her. "She was right to take off before she was consumed." she decides to leave him. "You’re totally right every action was well rehearsed." he wants her back.

excuse me sangre_de... hurricane is correct, if you read the new AP issue out it tells you just what she says. this song is amazing, and when I found out what it was really about it made the song even more amazing.

To me, this song seems like it's about a guy who has a girlfriend that he's not quite in love with anymore.

"I like the the universe But she messes with my words..."

Because he doesn't love her anymore, he starts to cheat on her...

"A taste test of girls from all over the world who refuse to accept my excuses..."

None of his affairs seem to work and he begins to look to drugs and alcohol for a solution....

"Liquids, powders, and pills, Not quite taken against my will..."

His girlfriend realizes that he's cheating and doing drugs/alcohol and tries to help him...

"She put up with so much, All my madness and my self abuse. She would tend to my wounds..."

He tries to tell her that he wasn't cheating but she already knows....

"I know what you're thinking; This probably sounds rehearsed.." "She refuses to speak as I'm drifting asleep at the wheel..."

    Then finally, she leaves him.

"She was right to take off before she was consumed..."

This is just my take on the song, which is one of my favorite songs off Commit To This Memory.

this is about a couple who is no good for each other. she censors the man and stops him from saying what he feels and she is running the risk of getting pulled under by his drug/ drinking problem. she was the first girl who would actaully stay with him even though she saw all of his problems. after a while she left because she saw that soon these things he was doing were going to overcome her and she couldnt take that. the end is really powerful " you were totally right every action was well rehearsed" im not sure if it was like a sarcastic statement or it means that its happened before to the couple

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
