When I was young me and my mama had beef
15 years old kicked out on the streets
Though back at the time i'm young and wreckless of course
How could I steal from my mom and not show a bit of remore
Somewhat ashamged to speak about it
Lost all my mama's trust over what
A pair of sneakers and an outfit
I got caught, this Ruff Ryder got weak
When I saw the tears running down the side of cheeks
Catching flashbacks of when I was a baby in her arms
Doctor said I had a fever and her baby was in harm
106 degrees, I was close to my death
But you kept me at ease, held me close to your brest
This woman raised me, bathed me, the fact is it hurts
Cause soon as she forgave me I went right back in her purse
Just fights and more lies, nights with more cries
So when I see your smile now it's a sight for sore eyes
You know your baby boy is blowing up
But it wasn't all good growing up
I shed tears with my baby sister
Over the years we were tighter than the other little kids
Thank God we had the same daddy
But came drama when things go wrong don't blame mama
There's no way that I can pay you back
But as a man I think I finally understand
I love you ma
I love you mama
Ain't nobody ever taking your place
I love you mama
And I love to see the smile on your face
I love you mama
You know I wanna give you the world
I love you mama
You'll always be my number one girl
I love you mama
I'm so proud to be your son
I love you mama

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
