This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere.
In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
summer move forward and stitch me the fabric of fall
wrap life in the brilliance of death to humble us all
how sweet is the day
I'm craving a darkness
as I sit tucked away with my back to the wall
and the taste of dried-up hopes in my mouth
and the landscape of merry and desperate drought
how much longer dear angels
let winterlight come
and spread your white sheets over my empty house
summer move forward and leave your heat anchored in dust
forgotten him, cheated him, painted illusions of lust
now language escape, fugitive of forgiveness
leaving as trace only circles of rust
and the taste of dried-up hopes in my mouth
and the landscape of merry and desperate drought
how much longer dear angels
come break me with ice
let the water of calm trickle over my doubts
come let me drown
angels no fire no salt on the plow
carry me down
bury me down
and the taste of dried-up hopes in my mouth
and the landscape of merry and desperate drought
once I knew myself
and with knowing came love
I would know love again if I had faith enough
too far is next spring and her jubilant shout
so angels, inside
is the only way out
wrap life in the brilliance of death to humble us all
how sweet is the day
I'm craving a darkness
as I sit tucked away with my back to the wall
and the taste of dried-up hopes in my mouth
and the landscape of merry and desperate drought
how much longer dear angels
let winterlight come

I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example:
"'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
According to Vienna, she wrote this song when she had writers block. So she wrote about how farmers might feel in the dry season when the rain won't come as a metaphor for how she felt. But as usual with her songs, there are still many interpretations that work, independant of what she (probably) had in mind as she wrote it... For me personally it's about finding yourself in a place in your life where you don't know where you're gonna go (either literally or in terms of a relationship), but there's still the inexplicable hope lingering in the back of your head.
I really do like the images of a desert this song evokes, although I see this as a breakup/healing song.
She wants snoooowwwwww!!! :D The chorus mentions winterlight and white sheets over houses, as well as ice. She also mentions salt and plows. She's dealing with love gone bad and lost and wants to leave it and the season behind, so she can move on. She's sitting in a summer dry because of drought (of lack of water and of lack of love) and she wants winter and a deep blanket of snow to bury her so she can be reborn in the spring with the ability to be able to love again without hurting.
I always thought of the "white sheets" as funeral shrouds, as well as snow - a sort of "all right, you may as well kill me, it'd be easier than struggling through this" mentality. I think I like the optimism of your interpretation a bit more. x'D
The way I see it the song talks about being lost and dry or lifeless inside, and calling the angels to give her life and purpose. But she's doubting of herself, her life, and her love. When she says "Angels inside, is the only way out." I think she relizes that the only angel that can make her life better is within her, or is her spiritual self.
I just wanted to point out the repeated assonance of the sound 'ow' (evoking a sense of pain), especially in the chorus. Drought, mouth, house, shout, drown, plow, down.
Similarly, the remainder of 'us' is merely lust, dust, and rust.
