"Looks Like Chaplin" as written by Kelly Jones, Stuart Cable and Richard Mark Jones....
I feel the wash close down the street
Yet Chaplin walks feet nine fifteen
And I hear them call his name and I see him turn away
They take him in and clean him up
They take him in and strip him down
Dry his skin and feed him wine
And I hear them call his name and I see him turn away
Asks to use the phone yet he lives alone
He lives alone there's no one home to phone
Sits alone home alone calls
His home, his own wife is still unknown

General Commentits definitely (kelly jones said) about a little old man who lived near him who no-one really knew anything about but this guy always walked past jones' window in the same clothes at the same time each day, and then sat at home in his rocking chair in his front room

General Commentoh yeah i forgot to say that the way this bloke walked reminded jones of how charlie chaplin walked. the 9.15 bit is the time he walked past, and the name-calling bit is about kids who used to take the p*ss out of him, and the rest of the community who were concerned about him being alone at such an old age

General CommentYeah, it does sound like this man's memory was going a bit, and he was all alone etc. At first I thought he'd killed his wife and the police were taking him in, but he'd done it when he was in a psychotic state and didn't remember that he'd done it.
