"Now That You're Gone" as written by Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers....
I ain't afraid of her
I've hurt so much it feels just like normal to me now

I'm alone and I'm dancin', with you now,
In your old room, in your old house
I'm alone and I'm dancin', with you now,
In your old room, but there's nobody there

Now that your gone
Now that your gone

Everything you ever touched, the fingerprints like
Crime scene evidence undisturbed in dust
I don't dare touch anything of yours, because it's evidence of us
And it means everything
Well sort of

I'm alone and I'm dancin', with you now,
In your old room, in your old house
I'm alone and I'm dancin', with you now,
In your old room, but there's nobody there

Now that your gone
Now that your gone
Now that your gone
Now that your gone
Gone

I'm alone and I'm dancin' with you now,
In your old room, in your old house
I'm alone and I'm dancin' with you now,
In your old room, but there's nobody there

Now that your gone
Now that your gone, for good

General CommentOne of the saddest songs I've ever heard, but you have to love it because it's so honest and real.

General CommentMy boyfriend of almost a year and I broke up for a week and then he sent me this song. I think it means that he can't get over his girl being gone and his new girl just doesn't cut it.

He and I are back together, and this song helped us do that.

General CommentThis is by far my favorite song on this album. It is his tone that makes it, but the song expresses his loss and his dispair perfectly. I love the "crime scene evidence undisturbed in dust" line to me he has stopped time and wishes she were still there, but he knows she is gone....for good.
    Sad but beautiful song.

General CommentI think this song is abotu how this guy lost his girlfriend and he still misses her so much adn can't move past the hurt and he doesn't remember what normal feels liek (I ain't afraid of her I've hurt so much it feels just like normal to me now)

and he goes back to her room and has all these flashbacks of him an her or he sees her and starts dancing with her and then he realizes that he was just imagining it because she is obviously gone and isn't going to return (I'm alone and I'm dancin', with you now, in your old room, in your old house I'm alone and I'm dancin', with you now, in your old room, but there's nobody there Now that you're gone Now that you're gone)
and hwo he wants to touch all of her stuff remember everythign abotu her but he doesn't want to disturb it because that was what they had and it seems perfect now even though their relationship probably wasn't. (Everything you ever touched, the fingerprints like Crime scene evidence undisturbed in dust I don't dare touch anything of yours, because it's evidence of us And it means everything Well sort of)

    just mi interpertation though

General Commentoh how i love this song. Straight through my heart. To me it is about how you try to hold on to memories of your lover:

Everything you ever touched, the fingerprints like
Crime scene evidence undisturbed in dust
I don't dare touch anything of yours, because it's evidence of us
    And it means everything
    Well sort of

you know how after you broke up you still keep photographs, his phonenumber and all the sweet messages just as the last faint resolve of what once was. Sweet song

    General CommentCorrection to the lyrics:
"Everything you ever touched is undisturbed and hangs out
Like crime scene evidence undisturbed in dust
I don't dare touch anything because it's evidence of us
    And it means everything
    Well sort of"

General CommentI agree; the feeling you have about not getting over someone, the feelings, emotions and pain that are all involved.

I also imagine the protaganist to be drinking, something hard like whiskey, dancing with the bottle, trying to drink away the memories...

    General CommentLyric correction:
"I ain't afraid of hurt; I've had so much it feels just like normal to me now".
I don't think it's about a lover who's gone. I think of it as a tribute to his grandpa with whom he was close, who has passed away. That's why he's able to be in the person's "room" in the person's "house". The person died and is "gone for good". It's terribly lonely to lose someone you love to death, knowing you'll never see the person again.

General CommentIt's definitely the song about someone who passed away, as the last two lines say: "now that you're gone for good". Someone who was very close to him/her. Whether that person is a family member, lover, friend, doesn't really matter. What matters is the feeling after they're gone. It's a terribly sad song.
