Sjåaren

This song has always been incredibly moving for me, Sjåaren which translates loosely as 'The Viewer' is a very introspective song about life and people. My Norwegian is quite rusty but I'll try to give the gist of the song here: Earth, you said, must follow its path, in each human stride, the grass will grow. Life, you said, will never end, A seed will remain and a flower will bloom. Death, you said, is our reaper Yet no-one knows which way he shall go People, you said, can never be free When they make of themselves, slaves to time For ever (eternity?), you said, ask me not Here, each and everyone must decide on a way Peace, you said, do you long for him ? You'll find him in the woods of no mans land. /me shivers.
