Jimmy
his secrets out
the one he locked inside and denied every word about
he's guilty so his story claims
twisting in his seat he repeats alone his name
Counting the woes
between his every line
searchin miles and miles to define
just what it all means
Jimmy
as quiet as a church mouse
painted every graphic scene but with few details
his accomplice had made sure of this
when she sealed it with a bedspring kiss
and when her time had come to go
Jimmy washed the bloodstains form her clothes
but with a needle in his vein
he knew he could not explain
just what it all means
counting the words between his every line
searchin miles and miles to define
just what it all means
killing his time
a monkey in his vein
he knew he could not explain
just what it all means
just what it all means

It actually begins: "Jimmy, his secrets out"

I love how the opening chords begin sounding like cars moving past a late-night city street -- maybe from outside the open window of a seedy upper-floor hotel where a murder was committed by this Jimmy character on a prostitute...

However, sometimes I think the monkey may be heroin or an aids-infected needle shared between two junkies...

Omg, someone else knows about Jellyfish, lol, anyway, yeah this song sounds like it's about drugs, it has a funny minor-lounge type feel to it aswell.

Ya, I think this song is about a crazy dude on heroine nad he has a secret that racks him with guilt. I think he killed a chick and doesnt even know why he did it....

guys, come on the guy has a split personality, repeating alone his name, and so on, the one he locked inside... and his accomplice was a woman who I believe took advantage of Jimmy, screwing him, (bedspring kiss) which would shut him up, so he would kill FOR her and he cleaned her up to protect her, see he can make no sense of it because he believed she loved him and now he is caught. but she is the monkey in his vein, his love, he did the dirty work. he takes the rap.... counting the words, between the confession, repeating his name etc... signing a confession he cant explain. The only other change might be she killed and he took the rap because he loved her. same senario otherwise

I always thought it was about Sid and Nancy, but then I'm not positive since it's about a guy named Jimmy. Maybe they changed the name so it wasn't so obvious. SOrry pissnspite, but the monkey in his vein is definitely heroine and not the chick. It even mentions the needle in his vein as well.

monkey = morphine. definitely a combination of regret buy a junkie named Jimmy, but I can't decide whether "it's come time for her to go" is about the woman leaving him and him cleaning up after her, or he decided it was time for her to "go" and did her in.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
