Ache
Can't watch you break
And shatter
Saved
New lives to make
Us better

I'm letting you know
Cleansing my soul
Been letting you know
For days

Turn over everything
Time can heal us again
I'm tender in your arms
Reaching inside of me
Bringing the love I need
The loneliness has gone

Faith
New roads to take
Together
Days
Lying awake
Remember

I'm letting you know
Cleansing my soul
Been letting you know
For days

Turn over everything
Time can heal us again
I'm tender in your arms
Reaching inside of me
Bringing the love I need
The loneliness has gone

I'm letting you know
Cleansing my soul
Been letting you know
For days

Turn over everything
Time can heal us again
I'm tender in your arms
Reaching inside of me
Bringing the love I need
The loneliness has gone
The loneliness has gone

I love their newest album - Pushing The Senses and am surprised more people haven't commented on them!! I THINK this song is about going back to a previous relationship and starting again, because although he doesn't regret their break "new lives make us better", they should be together - "I'm tender in your arms". Another complelely different thing makes me think it's about a drug addict also!?!? Hehehe - no, hear me out. "Can't watch you break and shatter" - he doesn't want to hurt her anymore with his abuse of drugs, so he's going to give up, he just needs to feel loved and the loneliness will go..........maybe?? Let me know your thoughts!! PS - is this an American website, as I always assume it was but maybe there are English people who think about songs like this!!

I always thought it was about a relationship, not a drug problem... but anyway, a great song nevertheless. (btw, im an aussie, and we have the song here. =D)

This song is great. I love the line "... Turn over everything, time can heal us again ...".

I agree that it is probably about returning to a failed relationship. I'm not sure about the drug thing, but I never have been good at looking at the deeper meaning of a song.

    Great stuff.

woah cool song, yeh, seems to be about a failed relationship. seems to be the singers fault, he's cleansing his soul, as in trying to refresh himself and change and hopefully time will make things better, beautiful sound.

I think this song is about a failed relationship, but the both of them want to try again and make it work.

"turn over everything, time can heal us again" things may have gone wrong in the past, but this time they feel like it could work.

either way i love this song! it describes how im feeling about someone right now! :)

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
