You said we can’t make hits, well I’m smacking homeruns
You can keep the dam ball, here my signature son
You better pack your bags, enjoy the trip home
You lost the World Series, with the skills of my poem
With your yep yapping, gip gapping, back stabbing all time
Smiling in my face, while you dissin’ on my rhyme
Who’s several fries short of a happy meal guy
It’s a unanimous decision; you’re the weakest link (goodbye)
I’d swim like aqua-man if this game was full of drivers
We work with what we got fixing shhh like MacGyver
With Skills of rays coming down, just like a gamma
The bad mama jama, with beats that will slam ya
Right against the wall, so why you fighting this?
Not easily dismissed so loose the Prejudice
The soul is universal, ‘cause it’s universal soul
Just landed on the planet, so plant the flag pole.

(Chorus)

You said we couldn’t make a hit (Now who’s laughing?)
You said that we could never last (Now who’s laughing?)
You said we couldn’t get paid (Now who’s laughing?)
Were laughing at ya… Were laughing at ya…
You said the North couldn’t enter (Now who’s laughing?)
You said we couldn’t lock it down (Now who’s laughing?)
You said that Halifax was wack (Now who’s laughing?)
Were laughing at ya… Were laughing at ya…

Up in the North where the skills are tight,
lived four dope men and one was white…
Three M.C.’s and one D.J.,
bringing old to the new for you… okay?

Now walking down the streets of Gottingen now that’s a living saga
Turning down a curb to go up to the crib drama
When it comes to creeping know that I’m the starter
Bubbling off the shhh over last nights bid
We did park aids to parlaying straight blaze
I raise it loud for My Haltown we rebbin’ it up now
Cunard, Maynard and Brunswick we hitting hard
With profile digging there style procice shhh
Lights click on quick the mix got you hesitating
To drop a gem on my Scotia while my vibe is in motion
From T-Dot to Hali(fax), Vancouv(er) to Montreal
Four positions to move in Haltown my sound surrounds
To break you down last round for them foul lip haters
Claiming they know the time but yet they don’t know what the date is
You stupid ass crumbling you grumbling you thought we’d plummet
We far from it focused in the line of fire running shhh!

As the flow enters the mind, you all can’t faze me
I’m a keep ya open like a new born baby
Flip flows; rip shows, now we’re riding again
Collect dough, whips pulled, now we gliding in
This is a lesson on etiquette that you must learn
Mic controller’s in the club you must wait your turn
(The whole world will know), universal last for ever
(The whole world will know), with every day we get better
So you thought the soul was dead, now what you mean by that?
Every shot you took at us made us bounce right back
We gonna ride on in, now it’s our time to shine
We gonna ride on in, no need for taking dimes
Is it the way that we flow? I think it might be that
Is it the way that we roll? I think the shine’s too fat
Is it the way we stack chips? Too much bling for that
Is it the way we cop dips? I got a thing for that

You said that Halifax was whack (Now who’s laughing?)
Were laughing at ya… Were laughing at ya…

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
