Well in the steam of the man hole cities slum
Like a ghost it takes form in the sludge and the scum
Well jose knew him but not for very long
You know the mexican kid well we all called him john
He was cut down quickly his legs wouldn't run
You see it all came down to big danny's gun
He was a devil to most but an angel to some
He ruled his block with a gangload of men

'Cause I'm a generation terrorist
And when I shoot, you know I never miss
And this is my life, my way I can't resist
I'll scrap you out if you're on my list

'Cause I'm a generation terrorist
And when I shoot, you know I never miss
And this is my life, my way I can't resist
I'll scrap you out if you're on my list

Swastika tattooed on his head
At the age of 24 he ate a bullet in bed
Well big danny cleaned up the mess that he left
As he explained it to me
Well he wept and he wept
He said ' it dont make no fuckin' sense!'
He told me ' little lars' keep it under your breath
Revenge was coming from the tip of his tongue
I guess it was served when jose didnt run
Coz im a

'Cause I'm a generation terrorist
And when I shoot, you know I never miss
And this is my life, my way I can't resist
I'll scrap you out if you're on my list

'Cause I'm a generation terrorist
And when I shoot, you know I never miss
And this is my life, my way I can't resist
I'll scrap you out if you're on my list

'Cause I'm a generation terrorist
And when I shoot, you know I never miss
And this is my life, my way I can't resist
I'll scrap you out if you're on my list

'Cause I'm a generation terrorist
And when I shoot, you know I never miss
And this is my life, my way I can't resist
I'll scrap you out if you're on my list

Well I was 11 years old
There was a knock at my door
There was some trouble in my manor
Its outta control
Well big dannys handcuffed hes on the floor
Yeh he told me to run and he told me to bolt
As my mother cried you know my father lied
Well big danny was there he was at my side
He taught me how to love he taught me how to be free
Yeh free

This is LF&tB's best song. At least from Viking, anyway. A nice hardcore ballad and a catchy way of pushing the boundaries of what is and is not taboo. Namely the word "terrorist." It takes a bit of clout (or stupidity) to claim such a title, especially given the times. But honestly, does it surprise anyone?

I think it's about the Hells Angels. Examples: -1% refers to the study that found that only one percent of bike gangs or "clubs" give bikers a bad name. -Gangload of men would mean the gang of bikers. -"He was a devil to most but an angel to some"

i dunno any which way this song gets me ready for a fight, Hells Angels are wicked shit man they own a bar here thats getting turned back into the old punk scene hang out wich is going to kick ass due to the fact that THE ALLEY WILL BE BACK god that was a wicked ass place... i just think its about somone who was a Skin obviously and he got shot by a black person (im being nice) and then his other friend goes and shoots the guy and then the cops come and take him away and yeah you know the rest lol

I love the use of the word 'terrorist' in this song because, givin the current political climate, it evokes such a negative reaction, even out of context. Then you have Lar's bragging about being one.... a nice little 'fuck-you' to society in general.

As to the nature of Big Danny, I've always read him as being something of a neighboorhood vigilante, keeping things 'in order'. I think he shot the dude with the swatstika on his head, and was cleaning up the scene when he speaks to lars. All in all, a tribute to someone who's ideals clearly influenced lars' own, for better or worse.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
