Open up your purse
Never never never gonna lose it
Breadfan take it all away
Never give an inch
Gonna make a mint gonna make a million
Breadfan you`ve got it all, song
Long time friend
Gonna lose it in the end, who`s a fool?
See girl give it all away
Stay a bird stay a man stay a,
Just stay what you wanna be
With the widow of the man with the money
Sailor, wrapping up the town
With a gown and a record
On the top of you`re gonna be a bad boy
Breadfan finger in the pie in the sky
For a shilling on the nose of a gee gee
Come on keep it all aside
We will ride on a boat to the middle of an island
`cause i`m never gonna stay
`cause i don`t need it
Don`t you feel it in your veins
All the money in this world
And i don`t need it
With the widow of the man with the money
Sailor, wrapping up the town
With a gown on record
On the top of your man
Breadfan finger in the pie in the sky
The intro to Around the World by the RHCP sounds kinda like this song.
Yeah there are a quite of few openings to songs that remind me of this one, like Rush's Bastille Day.
With singer/bassist Burke Shelley having written the main riff, he explained it was intended to be a "high-powered fast-moving song that would be good on stage." As for the lyrics, he added "The lyrics are strangely erratic but mainly concerned with people who love money." The title reflects this well, with bread being slang for money (making the dough) and everyone is a fan of having some, and plenty of it.
This probably their most known song because Metallica covered it.
@blackled222 Metallica covered four of their songs, Einstein.

proto thrash in the early 70s.
This song rocks. It's clearly about a poor person, a 'breadfan', trying to get up in the world financially speaking, but there's plenty of obstacles.
Some vague pharses in there and it's interesting how it switches to someone saying 'all the money in this world, and I don't need it'.
I must say, the guitar and bass in this song are great, but the vocalist just isnt for me :\
hehe, never heard metallica's version. just heard this one on the radio and loved it :D tho i thought it was a girl singing.
I've never heard the metallica version either. But I just love their songs and especially the singin is what I enjoy Good stuff indeed and I hope never to get to listen the metallica version 'cause I can just think in my mind how much it would suck
You are so right condoriano...

This song is a fucking masterpiece, love it. Metallicas version sucks ass in my opinion, Metallica is a great band but their covers all suck.
