When you've had your fun, and your work is done, you must not succumb
I can feel you breathe, it's like a mega-wedge inside, please don't hide

So momma, if you please, pass me the pork roll egg and cheese
If you please, on a kaiser bun
Momma, if you please, pass me the pork roll egg and cheese
If you please, on a kaiser bun

When the guava's drained, Eddie Dingle remains
But we must further ourselves on
So dynamic is life, staring into the sight's
Not right, but wrong in a good way

So momma, if you please, pass me the pork roll egg and cheese
If you please, on a kaiser bun
Momma, if you please, pass me the pork roll egg and cheese
If you please, on a kaiser bun

When you've had your fun, and your work is done, you must not succumb
I can feel you breathe, it's like a mega-wedge inside, please don't hide

So momma, if you please, pass me the pork roll egg and cheese
If you please, on a kaiser bun
Momma, if you please, pass me the pork roll egg and cheese
If you please, on a kaiser bun
Momma, if you please, pass me the pork roll egg and cheese
If you please, on a kaiser bun

Kaiser bun
Pork roll egg and cheese
(Zzzz, eeezz
That's the end
That's it, dudes
Thanks, Five)

I always thought this song was like "i just woke up, went to lunch with my parents after a long weekend of partying... and now I sit a the table, trying to get my act together --- asking my mom for food while riding off the last wave of magic mushrooms going through my body" .... but then again... i could be wrong :)

Back in the 90s at one their concerts, in between songs, I yelled out, "What's a mega-weedge?" Geener said, "I don't know, but the sound-man had a mega-weedge on earlier." I always figured it was a big buzz/drug-induced high.

I'm not from Philly, but someone I know from South Jersey said pork rolls are popular around there. Ween is from New Hope, PA, north of Philly.

I think its about the nixon administaration.j/k (poking fun at all the weird theories i've seen about some of these ween songs in here). I think this song has no point but just to be stupid. That's why I love ween so much.

I think the Pork Roll Egg and Cheese represents home and homeliness, or basic comforts. The whole album has the recurring theme of home, and this is the second last track of The Pod. I just think the Pork Roll Egg and Cheese, which also recurs as a motif throughout the album, is used as comfort device. What made me also think this is the fact that the line's repeated in the background of "She Fucks Me", probably the most emotive song on the album. It's almost as if Gener's singing it to calm down poor Deaner, who gets more emotive as the song progresses.

    Reminds me of good sex.

"When the guava's drained, Eddie Dingle remains. But we must further ourselves on."

He's basically saying "I know you need more of my hot lovin', but I need sustenance, therefore "'Mama' if you please, pass me the pork roll egg and cheese, if you please, On a kaiser bun."

Mama being a term of endearment not his actual mother.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
