"Nobody" as written by Amy Jane Studt and Yak Bondy....
Main street U.S.A boarded up and dry
Knowin' what once was here just makes me want to cry
Used to be the favorite place
Now what remains are memories even time cannot erase
Old man Johnson's store, where we grew up too fast
All that remains today are echoes from the past
Used to be a boomin' town
All that's left is either broken up or broken down
Singing, oh ah, oh ah, oh ah, oh
Where we used to belong
There ain't nobody home
Said, oh ah, oh ah, oh ah, oh
You can knock all you want
But, ain't nobody home
Packed up, moved away, runnin' from the past
Leaving behind the dusty dreams and broken glass
Used to be a busy town
Now, everybody passes through, but they don't stick around

Was a newsstand on the corner
Right next to the barber shop
And down the street there
That's where all the kids would stop
And they would tease the neighbor's bulldog
Laugh and run away
Now, there's no one left who knows the truth in what you say

(Final Chorus)

General Commentomg, no one has commented on this?!
anyway. it's about one person staying loyal to you, no matter what, even though everyone else leaves or doesn't care, this person stays.

General CommentIt's a bit strange though - she still seems really upset and pesimistic even though she has that "one person."
Doesn't make sense, unless she's going for a darker angle...

General CommentI always thought you "you" was her talking about herself. Or perhaps God, his seeing through all her facades?

General CommentI actually feel like shes talking about herself, as Prettyinpunk mentioned.. I feel this song is about how shes gotten herself into something thats too deep....."Light up another, I can taste the filth inside.." Maybe drugs of some sort.. But I think its about how she slowly changed into someone that she used to hate and now her friends, and all who were once close, slowly drifted away. Or if they just don't realize how far she is falling.

General Commentthis is a depressing song in a way, but about one person who is there for you no matter what. but obviously she has a lot of problems.

General CommentThis song isn't about having someone who's there for you no matter what it's about the total opposite. It's about being lonely. She's let her problems and her misery isolate herself from everyone and she doesn't feel like there is anyone who cares about her happiness or what she's going through. The "but you" is referring to herself, I thought that was obvious. IMO the problem she is going through is related to drug addiction: "light up another, I can taste the filth inside, I need to cleanse myself".
