Looks Like Yoda Lyrics
In a world devoid of emancipation
Life leaves too many question marks
On my conscience, why?
Why look up
The ground is so much more pleasing
And its where these eyes belong
I renounce
I renounce myself
What i have become is not
What i wish to be
Break my neck
I've become too accustomed to hopes
Hope's cruel grasp
Progression or regression
It all ends the same
In a world devoid
Emotionless
In a life such as this
Only death is certain
Sowhy wait
Break my heart
Cut my throat
When everything has ended
What have we accomplished
Slaves by design
Break my neck
Life leaves too many question marks
On my conscience, why?
Why look up
The ground is so much more pleasing
And its where these eyes belong
I renounce
I renounce myself
What i have become is not
What i wish to be
Break my neck
I've become too accustomed to hopes
Hope's cruel grasp
Progression or regression
It all ends the same
In a world devoid
Emotionless
In a life such as this
Only death is certain
Sowhy wait
Break my heart
Cut my throat
When everything has ended
What have we accomplished
Slaves by design
Break my neck

this is by far parkway's most left wing and meaningful songs! its a shame it doesn't have anymore comments! My interpretation is that it delivers a strong anti authoritarian anti right wing message.
"When everything has ended What have we accomplished Slaves by design"
shows the anti advertising, anti corporatism side of the song. and of cause
"In a world devoid of emancipation Life leaves too many question marks"
shows the strong anti authoritarian side. along with "What i have become is not What i wish to be"
This song shows what its like to live in a world "devoid of emancipation" something like what north Korea is like at the current time, or like how china was. it then tells how that person builds hopes and realizes he would rather die.. something like how the Chinese felt in Tienanmen square perhaps?
@lewdawg their latest album releases (Atlas and Ire) definitely delve more into their anti-authority and political stances more so than their earlier work.

the world has become such a corrupt + desecrated place that people have lost free will, purpose.
"devoid of emancipation" lacking in freedom "slaves by design" its become inherent that humanity are "slaves"; or serving a purpose which we have not freely chosen. living lives that do no suit/fulfil us.
the message is pretty clear.
SLAVES BY DESIGN!!!!!!
Could this be a swipe at religion??
Slaves by design ... most religions believe we (humans) were designed by their God(s), and I am pretty sure around this time that Jedi was being recorded as a religion on the Australian census forms.
