i see you all the time
i see you in a video
running through my head
i hear that you're a fiend
you love and let nobody know where you go

why didn't you come back to me?
i'll give you whatever you want
turn around on the way out
and you will find
i needed you all the way
now if you don't mind

i never needed anything,
anything but this tonight
i needed you to tell me what was wrong

why didn't you come back to me?
i'll give you whatever you want
turn around on the way out
and you will find
i needed you all the way
now if you don't mind

this is just like everything
i told you he would say
why didn't you just listen
so it didn't end up this way

why didn't you come back to me?
i'll give you whatever you want
turn around and you will find
i needed you all the way
now if you don't mind

why didn't you come back to me?
i'll give you whatever you want
turn around and you will find
i needed you all the way
now if you don't mind

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
