"She's Always A Woman To Me" as written by and Billy Joel....
She can kill with a smile
She can wound with her eyes.
She can ruin your faith with her casual lies.
And she only reveals what she wants you to see
She hides like a child
But she's always a woman to me.

She can lead you to love
She can take you or leave you.
She can ask for the truth
But she'll never believe you.
And she'll take what you give her,
As long as it's free.
She steals like a thief
But she's always a woman to me.

Oh-she takes care of herself.
She can wait if she wants.
She's ahead of her time.
Oh-well she never gives out,
And she never gives in,
She just changes her mind.

She'll promise you more
Than the Garden of Eden.
She'll carelessly cut you
And laugh while you're bleedin'
But she'll bring out the best
And the worst you can be
Blame it all on yourself
Cause she's always a woman to me.

La da da da da, da da da da da da, uhh uhh uhh uhh uhh uhh oohh oohh ohh ohhhh ohhhhhh

Oh- she takes care of herself
She can wait if she wants
She's ahead of her time.
Oh-well she never gives out
And she never gives in
She just changes her mind.

She's frequently kind
And she's suddenly cruel
She'll do as she pleases
She's nobody's fool
She can't be convicted
She's earned her degree
And the most she will do
Is throw shadows at you
But she's always a woman to me.

General CommentThe lyrics are clear. It is specifically about someone I know, but generally specific to keystones of women.

I'm not sure from where the misconception comes that assumes the line "...but she's always a woman to me." contradicts any of the earlier statements. I would venture to guess that it is something you are bringing to the equation. Such as the statement "A mother's love." If you all assume that the subject of this is your own mother (granted that she was loving towards you) rather than Joan Crawford or
Andrea Yates then of course you will see it as a love song. I believe that the song is meant only to say she does all of these things and none of these things contradict my image of how a woman is - in other words any female who behaves in these ways is always a woman to me. Blame yourself then clearly means you knew she was a woman when you started loving her, so why then would you expect her to behave like anything other than a woman? Do you also get angry when mosquitos bite you? Isn't that what mosquitos do? They're always mosquitos to me.

General CommentI thinks this song talk about a nassistic women not knowing what loves is and torment him with her wanting and leaving him. The current of external love and being indecisive.

General CommentI just sent this to my ex last night using her account on Napster to test if she is either narcisstic or has BPD. For over nine months I've watched her play love songs in hope I'm watching and sometimes I do. I'm unsure if she is just using malipulation tactics to keep me within her web confirming she is a true narsasist and I'll stay away at all cost. I've no regrets of this relationship, I learn't I carried some traits of codependency due to my father being nassisistic and I'm on my way to near on full recovery now. I've learnt so much about myself and come out of the other side for a better version of myself. I packed up smoking and the drink; 5 times a week down the gym and I've met someone I have a great connection with. Not sure how I feel about my ex now but I still contain some deep feelings towards her but it's possibly just a fantasy of what could have been. Don't know what she will play next and how it could eventually turn out. Fantastic song, sums up a great learning chapter in my life :-)
