"Connected" as written by Jeffrey B. Atkins, Andre S. Parker, Dominick Wickliffe, D. Woodard and Irving Domingo Lorenzo....
Somethin' ain't right
Gonna get myself, I'm gonna get myself
Gonna get myself connected
I ain't gonna go blind
For the light which is reflected
I see through you, I see through you
I see through you, I see through you
Ya dirty tricks, ya make me sick
I see through you, I see through you
Gonna do it again, gonna do it again
I'm (gonna do it again, gonna do it again)
Gotta do right (gonna do it again)
'Cause somethin' ain't right (gonna do it again)
Gotta do right, come on

If you make sure you're connected,
The writing's on the wall
But if your mind's neglected,
Stumble you might fall
Stumble you might fall
Stumble you might fall

I, ain't gonna go blind
Gonna get myself, I'm gonna get myself
I'm gonna get myself connected
I ain't gonna go blind
For the light that is reflected
Hear me out
Do it again, do it again
Do it again, do it again
I wanna do it again, I wanna do it again
I wanna through it again
Ya terrified (I wanna do it again)
Ain't gonna go blind, ain't gonna go blind
(I wanna do it again) here we go

If you make sure you're connected,
The writing's on the wall
But if your mind's neglected,
Stumble you might fall
Stumble you might fall, hear me out
Stumble you might fall

Interstate five stayin' alive
Won't someone try open up your eyes
You must be blind if you can't see
The gapin' hole called reality
Ow, wanna do it again,
I know I'm gonna do it again
I wanna do it again, come on,
I'm gonna do it again
Hear me out, terrified
Somethin' ain't right, here we go

If you make sure you're connected,
The writing's on the wall
But if your mind's neglected,
Stumble you might fall

General CommentIt may be about recently gained insight... and realizing you are surrounded by phonies...maybe even some of your closest connections, something ain't right. So now what?--You can't just throw people out of your life, and being preachy is rarely effective...so you have to live in this new (gaping hole called) reality and hope the "blinded" among you eventually see the light. The writings on the wall. You (and you alone) have to get connected. All the while you can't neglect, backslide, or stumble...it is terrifying and exciting all at once.

General CommentIts about self-actualization, meditation, mistaking your perception of yourself for your actual Self, the risk of losing sight of yourself (going blind), forgetting who you really are at your core, staying connected to your inner self, or you might stumble and fall (go insane). .

I wonder if this song inspired the move The Matrix?
That chorus is all you need to know around the meaning of this song.

Whenever 2 people meet there are really six people present. There is each person as they see themselves, each person as the other person sees them, and each person as they really are.

Song MeaningThis song was inspired in the 1992 Los Angeles riots. The artists felt frustrated by the indifference of middle and middle upper class people in reference to the hardships of the inner city. He saw how well to do people felt no empathy whatsoever for the poor.
