"Pastimes & Lifestyles" as written by and Craig Macintosh....
The case for the catwalk
Clues are too cool for the kids
The importance of keeping your clothes on
And taking your mind off of this

Oh so many buildings
Museums and churches, historical houses
Eat in or take away anything that fits in your mouth
Open top buses are winding round things of general interest
I'm interested in something, the direction you take
If you want to get out out out out

Every night I am woken by police
Put this city in disrepute if it means I can sleep

The case for the catwalk
Clues are too cool for the kids
The importance of keeping your clothes on
And taking your mind off of this
The casual and the clean cut
Find me somewhere I can stay
I'm looking for pastimes and lifestyles
To keep my attention at bay

Fields are followed by fields
The village store opens whenever it likes
I drive behind tractors that drive behind families on bikes
The neighbourhood watch
Or is it that the neighbourhood like to pry
Some try but I just want to know the direction
You have got to take to get out

Every morning I'm woken by sheep
Let the foot and the mouth prevail
If it means I can sleep

The case for the catwalk
Clues are too cool for the kids
The importance of keeping your clothes on
And taking your mind off of this
The casual and the clean cut
Find me somewhere I can stay
I'm looking for pastimes and lifestyles
To keep my attention at bay

Every place every person
The grass turns out to be astroturf
And I just want to sleep

The case for the catwalk
Clues are too cool for the kids
The importance of keeping your clothes on
And taking your mind off of this
The casual and the clean cut
Find me somewhere I can stay
I'm looking for pastimes and lifestyles
To keep my attention at bay

General CommentI think this is about people's search for the perfect "package" lifestyle to distract them from real humanity and everyday living. People yearn and strive for the perfect, when in reality it doesn't exist.

General Commenti think this is rather about being buried alive, living in a really small town.
Love that line: "...I drive behind tractors that drive behind families on bikes..."

General CommentI relate this song a lot to ignoring something about yourself that you should embrace, but you're unsure about the reaction to it. It seems like the main character in this song is denying some things about his/herself that they would be better off knowing...yet looking for a place that they can a) be accepted and b) keep their secret at the same time.

I might be way off base, but I don't really care.
