Mud on the Tires Lyrics

I've got some big news
The bank finally came through
And I'm holdin the keys to a brand new Chevrolet
Have you been outside, it sure is a nice night
How about a little test drive
Down by the lake?

There's a place I know about where the dirt road runs out
And we can try out the four-wheel drive
Come on now what do you say
Girl, I can hardly wait to get a little mud on the tires.

Chorus:
'Cause it's a good night
To be out there soakin' up the moonlight
Stake out a little piece of shore line
I've got the perfect place in mind.
It's in the middle of nowhere only one way to get there
You got to get a little mud on the tires.

--- Instrumental ---

Moonlight on a duck blind
Catfish on a trot line
Sun sets about nine this time of year
We can throw a blanket down
Crickets singin' in the background
And more stars that you can count on a night this clear.

I tell you what we need to do
Is grab a sleepin' bag or two
And build us a little campfire
And then with a little luck we might just get stuck
Let's get a little mud on the tires.

Chorus:
'Cause it's a good night
To be out there soakin' up the moonlight
Stake out a little piece of shore line
I've got the perfect place in mind.
It's in the middle of nowhere only one way to get there
You got to get a little mud on the tires.

And then with a little luck we might just get stuck
Let's get a little mud on the tires...

I find it hard to believe that this song, even though it is primarily about off-roading and all that good stuff, has no sexual messages.

"How about a test drive" - referring to sex in the backseat of his new car

"We can try out the four wheel drive" - come on

"Grab a sleeping bag or two" - obvious

"Get a little mud on the tires" - You know...

I like this song as much as the next guy, but you can't deny that there are sexual references.

@nard054 coming in way late here but I have always said that this song is a low-key way of him saying he's going to take her out in the sticks and poke her in her chocolate starfish. "Get a little mud on the tires." Lol good to know I'm not the only degenerate lol

THis song always puts a smile on my face. I guess its the fact that he's talking about going off-roading to get to the place he's going, and I'm a redneck at heart!! I love going muddin

eww u people make me sick!! this is totally a hick song and u people r recking it for everyone. where im from this is everyday life this is what ppl do. they get a truck and rip around where the roads come to a end. "Grab a sleeping bag or two" does not mean hes going to get into her pants. like they r probably holdin each other lookin at the stars and talking. Besides if u have ever met Brad he's totaly not like that. I met him and i talked to him hes a really cool guy!!

WOW, im not sure why people would get the whole sexual idea unless their mind is in the gutter. There is no way that Brad would do a song with that intent. Its about muddin' in a truck and being with the girl you love, purely in a non sexual way, just sittin there, starin up into the stars

ROFL @ Intelagense. But honestly, if this song isn't about having sex, I don't know what is.

Yeah right. Obviously it's about driving to some place no one knows about underneath the stars! Awesome awesome song.
