Life is fast but I don't wanna live past you, cause you are my only roots
I was the king of the drug booze thing now I've worn out the soles of my party boots
So call me shit faced Master of Disgrace, I don't care cause my outter skin
Is thick like crust, and a liver thats rusted out, now I'm on a list

Everbody wants to give a shit outta me, I won't give it but I'll give ambivalence
I gotta memory box cause my memory blocks me, from remembering weeks
All the blacked out nights into white out mornings, into grey matter damagings
So call me Fat Fuck, geriatric punk rock, give it straight cause I deserve
a verbal beating from an audience bleating, and a melee with no concern
Everybody wants to give a shit outta me, I won't give it but I'll give irresponsiveness
Everybody wants to drag me up again, I wanna go, but the price keeps going up
Going down is simple and practicl, laying low but keeping it cynical
I'm on the wagon and it's such a drag, without a key kick, shot, and a drag

Evidently no one likes a quitter or an old punk's bitterness
So I'm waiting for the tap, on my shoulder, cause we're all getting older not better
The laughs are no longer with us
So call me Fat Fuck geriatric punk,
call me Fat Fuck geriatric punk
call me Fat Fuck geriatric punk shit-faced master of disgrace

This song is about Fat Mike, saying hes not the same as he used to be, as he got older he doesnt drink doesnt smoke etc. and he doesnt care if hes called a poser or any stuff others say.

This song is fucking sweet. NoFX jus keep gettin betterer and betterer. You'd think when they are all 100 years old their music will have reached perfection. But they won't live that long cos theve all done too many drugs. hAhaHAhahA

i dunno they look young, they could pass as 20-something year olds. anyway, this song is amazing.

Evidently no one likes a quitter or an old punks bitterness, So i'm waithin for the tap, on my shoulder cuz were all getting older not better,

Im guessing that means that fat mike knows theyre getting too old, but he wont quit until people stop buying their stuff.

I don't think his primary concern is with people buying his stuff - if it was he wouldn't be so against promoting his music on MTV and such. And he'd do more interviews and make videos.

i think fat mike's saying that as time passed, they were getting older and more boring and their jokes don't make anyone laugh anymore, so they are left the only ones laughing (altough i don't think that way.. f**k it's NOFX!!)

they don't need anyone buying their stuff, they got enough money to live a peaceful life. they only keep putting out records cause fans like me still love them as time passed, and a lot of ppl would be really upset if they stop recording stuff.. besides all that and more important, they just love what they've been doing all these years, so even if people stop listening to them, they'll keep going the same way as always

it's catchy, got everything to make a punk song better (eg not only power cords, it's got solo and nice riffs) i'm really gonna learn to play it on guitar

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
