well it's been a long time coming
looking for the neon glow
been up and down the mountain
wondering where the hell to go
and I been along every dirt road
looking for the yellow haze
but I can't see it anywhere
to candlelight my way

I said mister can you help me
can you possibly explain
why the rooster on your chimney's
pointing north the other way
he said you ain't from around here
are you boys and I said no
just keep on heading that away
you ain't got far to go

don't stop the car
no through road
don't stop the car
no through road

we're forty odd miles from nowhere
and I don't know how to say
that we're all heading back
along the road from where we came
forty odd miles from nowhere and
the needle's in the low
Pete said how far now
I said we ain't got far to go

don't stop the car
no through road
don't stop the car
no through road

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
