Mouth Like A Magazine Lyrics
You ponder others, growing ever wakeful,
You've locked the vermin in the other bedroom,
To be so perfect causes you to feel so thankful,
Now find the fault because your boyfriend can't read,
Reflecting on to you is all the bitterness you need,
So unhappy, yet so preoccupied,
Never found beaten down with your forked tongue tied.
But your mouth is like a magazine.
You are vacant and submissive, receptive to abuse,
Virtue isn't tangible, and sense of self is dated,
Names constant on your cracked lips are now eviscerated,
Your spine is made of metal, Your veins are bound in electric tape,
And all along an impulse lights at random in your face,
Yough cought up an offering and forget which words are lies,
Then your skull echoes a singeing pop, as your brain is cauterized.
There must be so many to carry it over our heads,
Seething and unsettled and oh such a let down,
And now these rusty spokes inside my head are making such a grating sound.
But you mouth is like a magazine
Unreleased, i'm guessing you've never seen them live.
I agree with ametheamazing; this song is about how destructive gossip, or just speech in general, can be. also, I think the song is saying that such talk can appear elegant and full of truth, but in reality it's nothing but filth.
one of the best live shows i've ever seen.
and the video... wonderful!
this song = owns.
Showbread= life
It's raw rock, and it's more real than emo will ever be.
Unreleased, I'm failrly certain no one will care nor remember you in the future
Enjoy the music, fuck the scene
I think this song is about gossip, and how one can get caught up in it to the point where it can ruin them. That's my take.
Man, you guys bitch like hell. This song is a little "popish" for me.
Showbread put on one of the best live performances that i have ever seen. - in respect to this song, they are addressing the destructive nature of gossip and slander
