Where has it all gone?
Have all of the words escaped?

Inspiration on demand
Emotions all displaced

'And I will wander endlessly
Seeking all the answers that I let slip
through my fingers.
I will wander endlessly
Seeking all the answers that
I let slip and fall away.'

Turn it all around
It melts into sound
(unfolding... ever growing)

Torn from my rest
Though I still fight to stay.
The images dissolve
As the day invades

A second to react
The mind too slow to act
(Unfolding... ever growing)

Drown the voices of restraint
Make them choke to silence

Incinerate the ropes
And embrace the hope
(Unfolding... ever growing)

Splintering the doors
Free the mind to soar
(Unfolding... ever growing)

Turn it all around
It melts into sound

yeah, its a good song but NOT their best...the video is pretty awesome and I love the solo in this song very much. But I think this song sounds too much like Metallica. Awesome fucking song though, Shadows Fall own.

I really like these 2 lines: "Turn it all around It melts into sound" You don't become a talented and skilled musician, or any kind of true success for that matter, by being a pessimist.

This song to me looks like it is about depression. When you are depressed your emotions are all messed up, you really cant explain how you feel. You have negative thoughts and even tho you look for reasons to live, when you find them your mentality will refuse to accept it and just let them slip away. But then the lines "Turn it all around, It melts into sound" lead me to to believe that is possibly Brian Fair singing about being depressed and finding music to be the thing to bring him out of it. Because the second half of the song is optimistic, "Incinerate the ropes And embrace the hope" I believe that symbolizes breaking free of the grasp of depression and looking forward to a happier life. Just my thoughts, maybe they sound completely ludicris to you,

The part where that guitarist dude sings "Seeking all" and "Unfolding...ever growing" is awesome. And dammit the video makes no sense to me, but it is awesome nonetheless.

Wow, Shadows Fall is staggeringly good. 1980's - Metallica 1990's - Pantera 2000's - Shadows Fall??? lol, not QUITE there yet, but it's a good start to their career. Their roots are a lot like Metallica's. Elektra isn't really that big a label and neither is Shadows Fall at this time. They're releasing one more album for this label, then moving onto bigger and better things... just hope they don't sell-out like Metallica did. In all honesty though, we could be watching something special unfold, cherish it. Their lyrics are short but incredibly powerful. Fair might be a little better served to scream a little less, but you know what? That's their sound, more power to 'em. Jonathan Donais and Matt... something are incredibly creative guitarists. Bittner is one of the best drummers out there, behind Danny Carey though. You're right, Shadows Fall does sound A LOT like Metallica. I don't think they're stealing from them though. They have many that don't even sound remotely like Metallica. Although, Those Who Cannot Speak sounds eerily similar to To Live Is To Die...

The song is about where the band gets their inspiration from, which is most likely negative emotions in their every-day lives. Hence the title "Inspiration on Demand," since there is so much there that they can pretty much turn anything into a song.

Trouble Breathing
Alkaline Trio
While the obvious connections with suicide or alcoholism could be drawn easily, more subtly this song could be about someone who views the world through a negative lens constantly and how as much as the writer tries to show the beauty in the world, this person refuses to see it. It's one or another between the rope and the bottle. There is no good option for this person. They can't see it. Skiba sings it in a kind of exasperated way like He's tired of hearing this negative view constantly and just allowing that person to continue feeling the way they feel knowing he can't do anything about it. You can hear it when he says maybe you're a vampire.

Alma Matters
Morrissey
The man has pseudo-friends who constantly criticize his actions. They moralize him, "teach" him and advise him to make a significant change in his life, because the way he is and what he does is not what they say it should be. They may find his life lame or immoral. They hold themselves up as role models. The man replies that he will make his own choices and decisions and he does not agree to unconditionally make himself under the influence of questionable quality advice. He justifies this by saying that there is always someone for whom he will be important, no matter what he does and no matter what he is. Although it is not said directly, I read it as meaning that he will always be important to himself in every way and he will always have his own support. "Everyone is different and maybe that's a good thing, but you exceeded that mark 1000 times" - I remember very well how sad the words I once heard (from my peers and it was in negative context) at school made me feel.
