This gets to me a little more than it should
But I still remember
Every word you said
I guess it pays to be someone
And it's ok to step on everyone
You think you are so much better
But this road you're on won't last forever
I made it this far, I made it without you
But I don't have all the answers
Like you do
I guess it pays to be someone
And it's ok to step on everyone
If I listened to you
I'd be running away from this
There's only so much more of this I can take
So fake, so fake you are
You think you are so much better
But this road you're on won't last forever
But I still remember
Every word you said
I guess it pays to be someone
And it's ok to step on everyone
But this road you're on won't last forever
But I don't have all the answers
Like you do
I guess it pays to be someone
And it's ok to step on everyone
I'd be running away from this
There's only so much more of this I can take
So fake, so fake you are
But this road you're on won't last forever

hope those lyrics are accurate

they are

This song is about a speaker addressing somebody who lives their lives in a fake manner. The speaker suggests that the other person thinks they have "all the answers" and that they "step on everyone." Basically, the other person appears to be almost self-righteous, while at the same time living a life where they aren't actually being themselves. Like a lot of Lo-Pro songs, I kind of get the feeling that it was written for an ex.
