One In Equal Lyrics
How could you take advantage of my situation?
I'm fallin' far in this world without a rope
Or someone to hold me up
Someone to keep my feet on the ground
My head in this world
Chorus:
Never thought I'd see the day
When everything around me is
One world, one life
And everything is all the same
We're one in equal
I think I see the last of it
The haunting memory is fading fast
All in all
We're one in equal
I think I hear all the children crying
Looking for the rise of a brand new day
Someone to hold me up
Someone to keep my feet on the ground
My head in this world
Repeat Chorus (3x)
In equal...
In equal...
I'm fallin' far in this world without a rope
Or someone to hold me up
Someone to keep my feet on the ground
My head in this world
Never thought I'd see the day
When everything around me is
One world, one life
And everything is all the same
We're one in equal
I think I see the last of it
The haunting memory is fading fast
All in all
We're one in equal
Looking for the rise of a brand new day
Someone to hold me up
Someone to keep my feet on the ground
My head in this world
In equal...

This song is pretty amazing. It took me a few listens to figure out what it means, but I think I've got it: It's about the whole globalization issue and how we (U.S. citizens) would have to pull ourselves a long way down in order to bring the rest of the world up to our level (in terms of standard of living and political power). So true IMO. I'd be all about helping out the global villagers if I didn't have to ruin my own life to do it.
