Think I'm going home
I think I'm getting lost for a while
Tired of getting stoned
And thinking 'bout you in the night

So I'll file away all my dreams
Though I still believe in everything

I wished your love away
I wished your love away

Honestly over you
Honestly over you
One lie short of true
Honestly over you

Looking for some hope
Polished off the whiskey tonight
You turned a man to stone
For looking at you straight in the eyes

So I'll drive away with all my things
Though I've a faint belief in everything

I wished your love away
I wished your love away

Honestly over you
Honestly over you
And I'll tell the world
Honestly over you

I wished your love away?
I wished your love away?
I wished your love away?
I wished your love away?

This song embodies what it feels like to be in the in-between stage post-break up. You want the other person to think you're over them, but you aren't ready to let go yet. So, outwardly, you accept that things are over and pretend to move on, but nothing is ever that easy. I love the line "I wished your love away". It's so beautiful, but so hopeless in a way. It isn't possible to will an emotion like love out of existence. Cary Brothers is an amazing artist, and I hope he eventually gets the attention he deserves. If you haven't already, buy his LP!

Sometimes it's just better to pretend like you're over it than dwelling on a situation.

"So I'll drive away with all my things Though I've a faint belief in everything. I wished your love away.. ."

You can really relate, after a break up, you don't know what to do, how to react, how to feel, who to trust. You're really just lost and really have "a faint belief in everything" surrounding you. Sigh It's simply an amazing song.

I think it sounds like he almost wants the girl back...like, he left her and went away, but now regrets it. Not really a break-up...it always sounded whistful to me. Eh.

ALso, this is a great song to drift to sleep to. Especially in the sunlight...when I would ride the bus in highschool, I'd pop this song in on a warm day, lean my head against the wind, and drift...it was sooo nice.

I'm taken, but I fell for a girl who showed some feelings back towards me. One night we almost kissed, and I knew it was wrong. I think this song fits how I felt afterwords. I said I was over her, but never will be.

I absolutey love this song, it completely sums up that post-relationship feeling... 'I wished your love away' - he wanted the relationship to end because he was unhappy. 'Lookin for some hope' - but part of him is still in love and wants her back.

I really like the lines 'Honestly over you... one lie short of true' - he's not over her at all, but no one wants to admit that to an ex (or to themself sometimes). Like ReginkaLovesToJam said - it does sound wistful, and sounds like he wants the girl back... especially since it ends on 'i wished your love away' - that to me, sounds like he's blaming himself.

This song is the soundtrack to the end of my last relationship - i love love love it =) Cary Brothers' voice is amazing.

You can almost picture him driving away - with his heart in his hand. Makes me feel sorry, like he tried and she didn't accept his offer. That feeling sucks.

I, too, really like the lines: Honestly over you - one lie short of true... Sad yet beautiful. I love this song.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
