Your skin attached is a fragile cliche
Of my broken heart attack
You should swallow your teeth and hang out
Stay for a while
If your heart's still beating, it must be blood
If your lungs's still working, it must be mud
If its still light, then a kick in the ribs
Today's worth living?

I don't see anything now
So just say what you want to say
It's kind of funny how you're not listening anyway

Lights out, I can't stand to hear you scream while
We're making love, I was fast asleep
And the night sky better give something up

I don't see anything now
So just say what you want to say
It's kind of funny how I'm not listening anyway

Lights out
Lights out, I can't stand to hear you scream while
We're making love, I was fast a sleep

If your heart's still beating, it must be blood
If your lung's still working, it must be mud
If its still light out, then a kick in the ribs
Today's worth living? Then it probably is..

I don't see anything now
So just say what you want to say
It's kind of funny how I'm not listening anyway
I don't see anything now
So just say what you want to say
It's kind of funny how I'm not listening anyway
I'm not listening anyway
I'm not listening anyway
I'm not listening

Listening, I'm not listening
I'm not listening
I'm not listening
I'm not listening

Well, these are lyrics are based on somsone just listening to tracks, and they wanted to get lyrics up as soon as possible, and they did it before the CD was out, so lets not get mad at someone for them trying their best.

This is a great album, took about a week to get use to it, but I'm really liking it now.

yea just like the first cd its hard to grasp and understand bert and the music but yea this song is a really good song and i think it talking about the obvious- girls... i think its also easy to see bert is tired of this bitch who just annoys him and he shuts her down... or you can look at it as the press and society that pushes us to do stupid things and i think that bert is tired of it.. he's shutting them down.. good song

I believe this is one of my favorite songs to listen to, I rock out to it in my car. I taught myself how to play it on the guitar and learned the lyrics pretty quick. I love the guitar riff in the chorus. I also get an Evanescense vibe after he whispers, "I'm not listening," and it goes into the piano with the guitar riff right before he goes off for the outro, which brings me back to the first album.

Bert's life is not revolved around Kelly Osbourne, he's had other girlfriends since then, just don't talk

Haha. Imperfection, I noticed that Evanesence thing.

The song has -nothing- to do with women. It's about posers. Bert's even said it. It's about the stupid Hot Topic kids who listens to music because their friends do, or because it's popular...and they don't really -listen- to it, they're just hearing it.

You'll be a memory...I agree with you...it does seem like he is singing about those kids that listen to "popular music" just because their mates do

"It's kinda funny how I'm not listening anyway" saying that aint it funny that Im listening to the music but not understanding it, therefore not really listening at all.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
