Don't hold on
Go get strong
Well don't you know
There is no
Modern romance

Time time is gone
It stops stops who it wants
Well I was wrong
It never lasts
And there is no
Well this is no
Modern romance

And time time is gone
It never lasts
Stops who it wants
Well I was wrong
It never lasts
This is no
There is no
Modern romance

There is no modern romance
This is no modern romance
There is no
There is no

General CommentI always thought she said that time stops who it wants, not stops who we was...

What about the hidden song? I haven't seen the lyrics for it on here, so here they are:

Baby, I'm afraid of a lot of things
But I ain't scared of loving you.
And baby I know you're afraid of a lot of things
But don't be scared of love.
Cause people will say all kinds of things
But that don't mean a damn to me
Cause all I see is what's in front of me
    And that's you.
Well, I've been dragged all over the place
    I've taken hits
    Time just don't erase.
And baby I can see that you've been fucked with too, But that don't mean
    Your lovin' days are through.
Cause people will say all kinds of things
But that don't mean a damn to me
Cause all I see is what's in front of me
    And that's you.
Well I may be just a fool
But I know we're just as cool
And cool kids, they belong together.

This seems like such an opposite song from Modern Romance. I love them both.

General CommentIt sounds like she's jaded and cynical after a relationship gone sour, and she's telling herself to just forget about love because it's a futile endeavor. I can totally relate to everything she says here.

General Commentto me it makes me ponder of all those old loves.. like the people who fought in the war and stayed together through hard times. no one stays together anymor. i can also relate to this view. its a positive song to me without using love as a prize.
"Don’t hold on go get strong" -briliant line of advice even if it is simple.

General Commenti agree with the above comment
    this song makes me ache
it's about moving on from the previous relationship and even though it's so hard, you can't hold on to any of it
love isn't all that it's cracked up to be
and hey buddy, didn't you hear there's no modern romance?
    this song makes me cry.
and even one of my friends said "the yeah yeah yeahs are depressing" when he heard this one song

General CommentIt´s a really sad song, it is very different from all the other yeah yeah yeahs songs. It´s about ending of a "modern romance" which can not exist anymore. It´s about looking back to the start, realising how it was great in the beginning, how everything seemed to work out fine, and you both where very enthusiastic about everything. but at the end, you must confess that everything went wrong and that your "once so special relationship/romance" failed just like any other.
