Speeding Up the Octaves Lyrics
Run from all those times
She poured gasoline, by fires’ light she cried
She cried all night salt from her tears
Rusted shut her eyes
She should have shut her eyes
Blow out the candles tonight
Romance this chance to set angels to flight
Before they die
Please don't use my letters to start your fires this time
Your fire this time
This time
Your fire this time
This time
Faster than the light
Erase her embrace
Erase it from your mind
Let this die
please don't use my letters to start your fires this time
Remember oceans like times together
Across these oceans I sent my letters
I sent these letters to you
Remember starting your fires off my eyes
Remember these oceans
Like fires off your eyes
Remember these oceans
Like fires off your eyes

How the hell is HH not emo??? Come on now...

All of the songs by these guys are super good, the whole album is a perfect 'Screamo' album. Buy it or Die.

great song... this cd is so good.. i just hope hawthorne heights doesn't get too big. anyone have a clue about what this song means??

To me, this song is about moving on. He wants to move on and leave her as a memory and she can't accept that. To me, the fires respresent her anger and can be rumors that she has spread to try and get even. And the end is just a way of saying, "We had some good times and let those memories stay with you forever."

Except*

Wait, I dont know. I forgot my grammar.

i think this song is one of the best on the cd but i have no clue what it means i agree that is a perfect screamo cd

Screamo ?! we may not have the same definition of screamo.. Hot Cross is screamo

it is not screamo... it is most like post-hardcore... it is sreaming/singing... which is why i love it!!! but i love this song!!! but definetly not screamo... go listen to chariot or nine inch nails those are some hardcore screamo bands... but not HH...

For me this song has soo much meaning. I dont exactly KNOW what it's meaning is. But for some reason this song like pulls me in and like everything makes sense. A great song to end the CD with.
