Suds in the Bucket Lyrics
They say it was a little past nine
When her pulled up - a white pick-up truck
Her folks should of seen it comin'
It was only just a matter of time
Plenty old enough - and you can't stop love
She stuck a note on the screen door, "Sorry but I got to go"
That was all she wrote - her mama's heart was broke
That was all she wrote - so the story goes
Starin' out the window
Scratching and a rackin' his brains
How can eighteen years just up and walk away
Our little pony-tailed girl growed up to be a woman
Now she's gone in the blink of an eye
She left the suds in the bucket
And the clothes hangin' out on the line
Nothin' quite like this - has happened here before
Well, he must of been a looker
A smooth talkin' son of a gun
For such a grounded girl - to just up and run
Course you can't fence time - and you can't stop love
Sippin' on pink lemonade
How could eighteen years just up and walk away
Our little pony-tailed girl growed up to be a woman
Now she's gone in the blink of an eye
She left the suds in the bucket
And the clothes hangin' out on the line
And they're headin' up to Vegas tonight
How could eighteen years just up and walk away
Our little pony-tailed girl growed up to be a woman
Now she's gone in the blink of an eye
She left the suds in the bucket
And the clothes hangin' out on the line
And the clothes hangin' out on the line
They say it was a little past nine
When her pulled up - a white pick-up truck
Plenty old enough - and you can't stop love
No you can't fence time - and you can't stop love

This song is about listening to your heart, and not following your parents' expectations/opinions.
I WISH I UPPED and walked away with my Prince. Doing it all MY WAY.

This is a great song--one of those tunes you just want to get up and dance to.

Whenever I hear this song, it always makes my eyes water. My mom says this song reminds her of me, and I can definetly see this happening with me...

the song goes....
"When her prince pulled up - a white pickup truck"

I love dancing to this song at the country bar with my man!

I wish we had country bars in the UK :-( this song is the best!!

Moves fast. I love county songs that move fast. Definitely a good driving in your car song. Not a very deep song, but a nice introspection of Southern life here in the USA. Oh how I do love my pink lemonade. ;)

this song means alot to me, my brother and i dance together wen this song comes on, this is a great song, belive it or not, but this song...it brought me and my brother closer, we never really talked till he worked out that i liked country music, and now, wen he heard me listing to this, he took me to the pub that night and danced with me, he didnt even care that his mates were there....more brothers should be like this :):):):):):) i luv you jimmy!!

This is a fun song to sing along and dance to!

I love this song because it's up tempo and it has a catchy tune. I have a cousin who performs country music in Branson, MO, and she sings this song every night in her show. The audiences love it.
