A Thousand Years Lyrics

I'm saving all I'm not giving
But it's overflowing, evaporating in the air
As I'm walking, I know I'm not breathing
I'm not breathing only air

Because it's filled with words once spoken
By people everywhere
And I can hear all the whispers
That have lived a thousand years
It just took me being open
For them to reach my eager ears
Now they've reached my eager ears

And I hope I'll be ready
When my light, when my life divides

I find this to be one of Azure Rays most beautiful, descriptive songs. Short but sweet and just... wow.

I agree....but I think all the Azure Ray are so beautiful. I think this song is about death and accepting it.

The meaning I got is this is someone who gives everything they have to people they care about. People who turned out to be takers and give nothing back but pain from their use. Leaving them virtually alone and hurt. "I'm saving all I'm not giving But it's overflowing, evaporating in the air" Now this person is guarded, wanting to give what they have to offer but afraid to. "Because it's filled with words once spoken By people everywhere" Everyone has lied. "And I can hear all the whispers That have lived a thousand years It just took me being open For them to reach my eager ears Now they've reached my eager ears" Their conscience tried to warn them but they wanted to believe the people they cared about loved them to, so they didn't listen. Now in retrospect they can hear what their conscience or the universe was trying to warn them about. "And I hope I'll be ready When my light, when my life divides" Life is always about living, death and rebirth. We live and die many times in one lifetime. I think here they're referring to death and rebirth. It's not always easy to accept. We tend to want to hold on to what we know, instead of letting go. We're afraid to embrace the unknown.

This is what I got from this song but I can't help but feel I'm missing part of it. I enjoy reading everyone's interpretations. ɳαɱαรƭε ૐ ℙℯαḉ℮•¨•.¸¸..☪️
