Heaven Lyrics
Are you really waiting outside the door
Never thought I'd hear the words before the road
Sever
It's the simple things that are so hard to grasp
Can't find myself in all the days that passed
But I can feel it when it shines
Never mind I'm falling in love with you
Can't find the road that runs through
Falling love with you
Heaven
Are you really waiting outside the door
Never thought I'd hear the words before the road
Sever
It's the simple things that are so hard to grasp
Can't find myself in all these days that pass
But I can find feel it when it shines
Never mind the way they shy
Turning around along the trail
My whole world is falling in love with you
Can't find the road that runs through
Falling in love with you
Can't find the road that gets through

I love this song. I like what everyone above has said. To me though "Heaven" represents happiness and everything he's wanted and waited for, for so long. I feel like when he says "Heaven, Are you really waiting outside the door" he is questioning it in disbelief- he can't believe that happiness is so close by, because he has been disappointed so many times before. He never thought he'd get here. But he can feel it. Just my thoughts....

this song is amazing, i love it, esspecially live. i think that this song is about Jesus, because i know jeremy is a christain. jesus is our salvation, and he is "waiting outside the door" once he has become a christian his whole world revolves around Jesus, "my whole world is falling in love with you" i love this song, its very deep. i cant believe no one else has posted anything on it.

I think this song is about love, and not just falling in love with someone, but the whole concept of love. "It's the simple things that are so hard to grasp," love is a basic human emotion, yet so many people run from it--and that's what he's trying to do--"can't find the road that runs through"--so as much as he's trying to NOT fall in love, he falls with his entire being. This one is my favourite.

deserves more than 5 comments. this is one of the most touching songs i've ever heard. i definitely think it's about God.. or something like it. it's about a confusing path towards spirituality.. but one that's rewarding in the end. the spirituality doesn't have to be about God either. it can be the things that get you there.. like love.

I love this song and think it's pretty straight forward. The path to Heaven is a struggle and plain unclear most of the time. I find it funny though that people have to tiptoe around God, there is a reason everything epic and cool is from the bible, but society wants to take all these things (Good vs. Evil, Angels, Heaven) and give earthly meanings.

The lyrics are confusing. From what I can gather, it's about someone for whom Hevean is very close by, and knows about it, and spends his days thinking about it, yet can't seem to get to it, even though the way is very simple. Sort of like someone realizing happiness is close by and not being able to reach out a grab it.

I think Heaven refers to the the ultimate truth, which is that love is all there is. This song is about the struggle in trying to grasp and hold this truth."
He's doesnt know what path to take, that 'road' that leads him to this knowing. But deep down he know's that 'heaven' is the true reality through those moments of connection and clarity "But I can feel it when it shines".
The fact that he has these questions about life, shows that he ÍS on the road to discovering it's truth.

this is the best song
EVER
the fire theft is amazing

you have to listen to the music...
the music tells you the real story
it really is the simple things that are so hard to grasp

Such a beautiful song. Sunny Day Real Estate is one of my favorite bands and 'Diary' is one of the best records released ever. When I found out Jeremy was doing a new project and latched on to it. The Fire Theft isn't as good as SDRE, but they knock it out of the park eventually and 'Heaven' is one those tracks.
In my with I took this as a love song between two people. Now that I'm older I can see how it could be about his relationship with God. Regardless, this is such a beautiful song.
