Yeah, yeah
Yeah-eah, yeah
Yeah-eah, yeah

Why do you look so familiar?
I could swear that I have seen your face before
I think I like that you seem sincere
I think I like to get to know you a little bit more

I think there's something more
Life's worth living for
Who knows what could happen
Do what you do, just keep on laughing
One thing's true, there's always a brand new day
I'm gonna live today like it's my last day

Yeah, yeah
Yeah-eah, yeah
Yeah-eah, yeah

How do you always have an opinion?
And how do you always find the best way to compromise
We don't need to have a reason
We don't need anything
We're just wasting time

I think there's something more
Life's worth living for
Who knows what could happen
Do what you do, just keep on laughing
One thing's true, there's always a brand new day
Who knows what could happen
Do what you do, just keep on laughing
One thing's true, there's always a brand new day
I'm gonna live today like it's my last day

Find yourself, 'cause I can't find you
Be yourself, who are you?
Find yourself, 'cause I can't find you
Be yourself, who are you?

Who knows what could happen
Do what you do, just keep on laughing
One thing's true, there's always a brand new day

So you go and make it happen
Do your best just keep on laughing
It's all on you, there's always a brand new day
Who knows what could happen
Do what you do, just keep on laughing
One thing's true, there's always a brand new day
I'm gonna live today like it's my last day

rofl.. This song about god? .........NO

This song is more of a stay-true-to-yourself song.. "Find yourself, cause I can't find you" Like.. The person she knew had changed and she is asking them to be theirselves and she will find them again.. etc.. if ya get what I mean? but god? NOOOO >_<

i cant decide..from reading about this stuff about god it sounds reasonable, but that part about being true to yourself makes sense, too. i just cant see how they can combine to make this song. very hard to figure out. but i definitely think this is something about sticking to your beliefs. i guess that binds those two things together.

I have always loved the saying, "I'm gonna live today like it's my last day". I was happily surprised when I heard it in Avril's song!

This song is good and I like it.

But... the saying "live everyday like it is your last" is a stupid saying. I would be doing a whole lot a things on my last day that I would never do other wise. I would be locked up in jail for a long time if I was to follow this saying. My neighbors are very glad I do not follow this saying as well.

rofl.. If I knew I was going to die the next day, I'd be like all depressed and sad and just kill myself faster =P

I think this song rocks I luv the line "I think theres sumthin more lifes worth living for" although it bugs me that it says "there's always a brand new day" right before "i'm gunna live today like its my last day".. but oh well it still rocks

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
