"Be Careful, It's My Heart" as written by and Irving Berlin....
Be careful, it's my heart,
It's not my watch you're holding,
It's my heart.
It's not the note that I sent you
That you quickly burn,
It's not a book I lent you
That you never return.
Remember, it's my heart
The heart with which so willingly I part
It's yours to take, to keep or break,
But please, before you start,
Be careful, it's my heart.

General Commentthis song is so cute!
I took it on such a literal level for so long; it took many listenings before I thought of it more metaphorically - that when you're with someone it's not just their time you're taking up - it's an emotional connection you're building. I like to think of it working on both levels.
