Cutting razors and violence
Recalling cutthroats razor sin
We're watching heaven as the sun goes down
I watch the sun burst it hits the ground
You've gone too far
Dawnrazor's falling brush their skin
Dawnrazor's falling brush their skin

Dawnrazor
Dawnrazor well now
Dawnrazor
Dawnrazor well now

Only dreams survive
Been lost before
Only dreams survive
Been cut before

Cutting razors and violence
Recalling cutthroats razor sin
You've gone to far
Dawnrazor's falling brush their skin
Dawnrazor's falling brush their skin
Dawnrazor's falling brush their skin
Our dark angel has fallen brush their skin

My InterpretationLove the expansive feeling of this song. It always makes me think of the wide, open spaces of the Marlborough Downs for some reason, but probably better suoits some wild western desert

General CommentThe lyrics are "cutting razor sounding violins, not and violence.
Also only dreams survive being cut before, it's part of the same sentence.
I think the next bit, Our dawnrazor is falling, dawnrazor is dead.
Spiritual reference to us surviving in a dreamlike state beyond our deaths. Dreams survive being cut"
No idea if the song is refering to very specific things, but to me it's about someone whose been murdered with a cut throat razor. Some sense that the sun may never come up without them.
Not sure if it's about a theme, or it's an actual story.
Oh, and the last line is Our dark angel is fallen, dawnrazor is dead.

My InterpretationTo me it's about the Aztecs who would sacrifice willing victims to appease their gods. The victims would often consider their duty to give up their lives to appease the gods and do their part to help the civilization. The song has a very expansive feel to conjure up the incredible feeling of waiting until the last split second when the sun hits the horizon and the cutting begins.
