You've been gone so long, all that you know
Has been shuffled aside as you bask in the glow
Of the beautiful strangers that whisper your name
Do they fill up the emptiness?

Larger than life is your fiction
In a universe made up of one

'Cause you have been drifting for so long
I know you don't want to come down
But somewhere below you, there's people who love you
And they're ready for you to come home, please come home

You walk in a room and the world stops to stare
You mesmerize all who are caught in the glare
Of the spotlight that follows wherever you go
Does it light up the emptiness

Larger than life is your fiction
In a universe made up of one

You have been drifting for so long
I know you don't want to come down
But somewhere below you, there's people who love you
And they're ready for you to come home, please come home

This song is about super-stardom, from the perspective of the real friends left behind.

This is such a beautiful song.. so sad for me. Especially these line : "You walk in a room and the world stops to stare. You mesmerize all who are caught in the glare... Of the spotlight that follows wherever you go. Does it light up the emptiness?"

To me this song is about running from your past, running so hard and so fast that your universe can't include anyone else. The people left behind are desperate for you to come home, but you can't cause if you stop now then life itself will fall apart.

This song is about fading stardom..... all of the attention is drying out and you are left with only those that truly love you "waiting for you to come home"

This song has always made me think of my sister. She's battled an addiction for years. She's doing well now. The passed years she was drifting for so long. She's came down, and she's home now :)

Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
