Just sleeping, thinking and hanging around
Left the dark streets of September
As the air was cooling down
Woah yeah it was cooling down
I'm heading for the open road
Sunshine in the morning
Lord you gotta let it flow
Seems the more I learn, the less I know
Everyday I think about her
But if I look back I'll turn to stone
To stone, woah yeah gonna turn to stone
I'm heading for the open road
Sunshine in the morning
Lord you gotta let it flow
Yeah I gotta feel its glow
Sunshine in the morning
Lord you gotta let it flow
I was left out on my own
The sad times they were forming
I went through them alone
I feel the pain is gone
The open world is calling
And I am moving on
I'm heading for the open road
Sunshine in the morning
Lord you gotta let it flow
Yeah I gotta feel its glow
Sunshine in the morning
Lord you gotta let it flow

this song is about a guy who has just broken up with a girl and has realised he has to move on instead of looking back hence the line, "But if I look back I'll turn to stone" the name orpheous is from a greek story about orpheous who tried to get his wife back from the afterlife after she died.....

Yeah great song....it's about a guy that finally stand up and lives his life again without girlfriend
"A new day it is dawning I feel the pain is gone The open world is calling And I am moving on"
Amazing bridge.....

This song is amazing. Definitely about a guy getting over his girlfriend. I love the chorus.

Orpheus is an ancient greek story abou a guy who went o to the underword to bring back his lover, Eurydice. The go Hades and his wife Persephone gave him the permission to go into the underworld and bring back his love to the world of the living with only one condition: He must walk in front of her and never look back until they reach the world of the living. In his anxiety, he looked back and Eurydice vanished form his sight forever.
BTW, the intro to this song is amazing.

you really can't argue with a chorus like 'sunshine in the morning' ^_^

the band wrote this song when they heard the story of orpheus, i think - it even has a reference to an old greek story about medusa, where if you look at her youll turn to stone.
btw, awesome intro

Could possibly be related to the Northern Irish peace process? Just a thought... probably wrong. But if you treat it allegorically it seems to fit.
"Everyday I think about her But if I look back I'll turn to stone"
You can't forget the past, but you have to look forward to the future if the peace is going to hold...
"A new day it is dawning I feel the pain is gone The open world is calling And I am moving on"
...don't really need to explain, it sort of speaks for itself.
As I say, probably inaccurate... but no worse than some of the stuff I've read on here ;-)

On IMDB, in Moulin Rouge!'s trivia section, it said Tim auditioned for the part of Christian, and that led him to write this song. Just throwing that out there.

I can't believe this doesn't have more comments! It's a great song.
