some people work for a living and then realize that just living works. when i saw you smile up to the ceiling, it must have been my turn. a polaroid pose for a postcard.. portland, maine and the pouring rain. i'm running to ready myself for the walk across the rocks into the sand up on the docks to talk. and maybe can i hold your hand? oh, why do i plan and plan? I don't understand. i'm thinking of the ending to this movie and baby, it's bound to be tragedy.. lucky for me.. only had one night to dream together, till you're flying and i'm losing teeth and crashing up cars. if we could brave the nasty weather. i better fake bave. you've started something special inside of me, you've started the hard part, you've cast yourself smart. now if i could only stay awake, we could ride away, we'll ride away to the shore and kiss before the credits. and maybe i'm a hopeless case. oh, why? comes and slip by the dark of the lake. i'm thinking of a way to smooth write this moonlight and I slipped into sleep, yeah. 402, how lucky for you. i'll write, you'll write. alright, i might. i guess trauma boy dramatic lacks desire for anything drastic.. would you look down here? i'll write, you'll write. alright, i might. even though the morning rise was full of our eyes, they're waiting for us outside... you left me full of philly but still so very empty..

    My Interpretation
In my view, this song is about falling in love with someone who lives in another country and timezone. And this person visits your country and you have only a set amount of time to be with each other until God knows when. - a polaroid pose for a postcard - only had one night to dream together, till you're flying - if we could brave the nasty weather For me this is about this person visiting your town/country - 402, how lucky for you (4:02 AM) - even though the morning rise was full of our eyes For me this is about different time zones - would you look down here? - i'll write, you'll write And this is about keeping contact after this person went back home. I'm living this song right now, as in my interpretation of it. I hope the ending to my movie is not bound to be tragedy.

Taylor Swift
This song is Swift's response to the negative reputation the media has given her. "I can make the bad guys good for a weekend" - the bad guys are the paparazzi to Swift, but are good to the "player" since association with Swift immediately gives publicity. Any publicity is good publicity and Swift knows this. "You can tell me when it's over" - the tabloids rumor relationships are over before the couple announces it officially. With this song Swift is portraying the way she is portrayed by the media. It is a sarcastic jab at how she views herself and how her "ex-lovers" only wanted to be with her to increase their fame. I applaud the brilliance in writing about how you always write about relationships. It is expected so Swift is giving the media what they want and profiting off the attention.

Moyet later described how her song "Goodbye 70's" had been inspired by her disillusionment with how the late-1970s punk scene had turned out, saying, "'Goodbye 70's' is about punk and not caring how you were dressed, and then I discovered that so many of my friends that I'd thought it all really meant something to just saw it as another trend... That's what 'Goodbye 70's' was all about, about how sour the whole thing became."
