I've been running through this town,
I've been combing every street.
I've been searching for the reason within reasons,
Been searching for the higher ground in me.
And I've been trying to surrender,
To trust in every word.
All my days of misery,
Someone could have taken them from me.

I've been searching for myself,
For oh so many times.
I've been searching for the answer within answers,
But no one seems to know what's on my mind.
Craving for her love,
Aching for her touch,
All my days of misery, someone could have taken them from me.

So tell me where you are,
Tell me how you feel.
Tell me what you need,
Just tell me how you feel.
And let it all just rain on me,
Let it all just rain on me,
Let it all just rain on me=
Rain down on me.

If only for a day,
Oh if only for one night,
I could tell you this is everything that i have ever lived for,
But I'd be giving it all away.
So look into these eyes,
And tell me how you feel.
All my days of misery, someone could have taken them from me.

So tell me where you are,
Tell me how you feel.
Tell me what you need,
Just tell me how you feel.
And let it all just rain on me,
Let it all just rain on me,
Let it all just rain on me
Rain down on me.

I first heard this song while watching a DVD of a DJ Tiesto concert. Kane's lead singer Dinand was there to sing this song, and he was HOT! When i researched more, I discovered the original Kane song, and loved the song even more! To me, its about being lost and lonely in life after losing a loved one. He wants to know where his lost love is, and if she feels just as miserable.

Yeah, maybe more a lover than a lost family member??

I agree that the song is either about a lover or family member. However I am not sure he is necissaily saying that they are gone. I think he is writting about his experience consoling someone. Like how they are feeling and to let him know, thus the "let it all rain on me". but then at the same time he does seem to be searchign for that someone...maybe not physically but mentally and emotionaly. They could be in front of him or far away.

If I'm not mistaken, Dinand lost his wife Guusje Nederhorst (cancer) so this song might quite be from his own experience... Don't know whether he wrote it though.

He did write the song himself, he writes everything himself...

And yes, his wife died of cancer, just as his best friend (whom he names his first born son after) Maddie, died from cancer.

This song can't be about losing Guusje to cancer though, since she was still alive when he wrote it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
