Like the sound of silence calling
I hear your voice and suddenly I'm falling
Lost in a dream
Like the echoes of our souls are meeting
You say those words, my heart stops beating
I wonder what it means
What could it be that comes over me
At times I can't move
At times I can't hardly breathe

When you say you love me
The world goes still, so still inside
When you say you love me
For a moment, there's no one else alive

You're the one I've always thought of
I don't know how but I feel sheltered in your love
You're where I belong
And when you're with me if I close my eyes
There are times I swear I feel like I can fly
For a moment in time
Somewhere between
The heavens and earth
I'm frozen in time
Oh when you say those words

When you say you love me
The world goes still so still inside
When you say you love me
For a moment, there's no one else alive

And this journey that we're on
How far we've come and I
Celebrate every moment
When you say you love me
That's all you have to say
I'll always feel this way

When you say you love me
The world goes still so still inside and
When you say you love me
In that moment, I know why I'm alive

When you say you love me

When you say you love me
Do you know how I love you?

I love this song very much. It means when someone says he loves to a person, and the whole world goes silent and still.

Only three comments before mine. How shameful!

This song is one of my favorites of ALL Josh's music. Sooo personal and beautiful. Once again, I think this can be interpreted as an earthly love or a Godly love. Whatever strikes you best.

This song gives me so much hope and happiness. It is PERFECT.

Strange... I always though the lyrics were:

And this journey that we're on How far will you come and die? Celebrate every moment.

I like my version better... heh.

Josh Groban has a beautiful voice.

This sone is truly about pure love. Very cliche and sappy but any girl will fall for it. If only my bf knew who he was. Josh Groban is also a verry good looking man. Any woo... This song is by far one of my favorites.

This is probably one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. It is my main dedication to my shining star, The Fonz. Everybody I've told that thought I was a complete nut, but who cares? Its a great song and Josh Groban is amazing.

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
