This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines:
"Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet"
So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other:
"I had all and then most of you"
Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart
"Some and now none of you"
Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship.
This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
Things are gonna change
And not for better
Don't know what it means to me
But it's hopeless, hopeless
Got to get you home
Could be with anyone
Think of what I've done, uh
You know it all
Everything is everything
Everything is everything
The more I talk about it
The less I do control
Everything means everything
Can't understand a word
Half of the stuff I'm sayin'
The things I do possess
Sometimes they own me too
What they gonna do to me?
It's hopeless, hopeless
What I can't explain
I'm sure you'll get it well
Since I always wanted
I always wanted you
Everything is everything
The more I talk about it
The less I do control
Everything means everything
Can't understand a word
Half of the stuff I'm sayin'
Riding low, riding low, riding faster
If this is what I want
Look at what it did to me
Riding low, riding low, riding faster
If this is what you want
This is what you get instead
Everything is everything
The more I talk about it
The less I do control
Everything means everything
Can't understand a word
Half of the stuff I'm sayin'
Riding low, riding low, riding faster
The more I talk about it
The less I do control
Riding low, riding low, riding faster
Can't understand a word
Half of the stuff I'm sayin'
And not for better
Don't know what it means to me
But it's hopeless, hopeless
Got to get you home
Could be with anyone

i think it's about the importance of just living life instead of philosophising, making choices instead of endlessly deliberating. 'everything is everything' has a buddhist quality to it, and ties in with 'the more i talk about it the less i do control.' don't bother trying to discuss or understand life, just live it.
That's kind of what I was thinking.

It also made me think of how we obsess over material things and pointless it is becase everything is everythin

but yours makes more sense
:P
I think it's about him, how he's usually in control but in this relationship whether it be with a friend, girl, or what have you; he's out of control. The more he gets into it, the less he can do about it. He's starting to talk about things he's never done before and he doesn't really know what he's doing. It's very hush hush (riding low, riding low, riding faster) because maybe the other person wants it that way.
Whatever it means, fantastic beat.
can't understand a word, half of the stuff he's singing. I have no clue what these lyrics are about!
A great song and amazing beat! I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it!
Its an awesome song..really tight.. Besides..the lyrics are so my state of mind.. Simply love it..
well, love this song much, EVERYTHING works here!
I just about die when he says "i always wanted you" A-MAZING
I think this song is about getting consumed by your thoughts and being in so deep you can't control how you feel. I think it's about losing something or someone that holds a strong value in your life.
In this case..it seems like it's a relationship. I think he's already gotten the girl and he's on top of the world..only thing left is to lose her. You let that thought consume you..you might end up understanding the lyrics in this song.
sorry...

I think it's about being afraid to lose soemthing or someone that holds a strong value in your life.
EVERYTHING IS EVERYTHING...yUP, that's what it means
I'm with wintersetheart on this one. He feels out of control with someone who knows him well. It's confusing for him. Interesting song.
