People say that you're no good for me
So you love another
And she's making a fool of you
Oh
If you love me baby
Don't deny it
But you left me
And tell me
I should try it
Tell me I'm a baby
And I will understand
Just this once, twice, forever
'Cause baby
You could take me to heaven and back
Just as long as we're together
And you do
I don't want to play around
I don't want nobody's baby
Part-time love just brings me down
I don't need your freedom
Girl all I want right now is you
But I can't escape until you love me
I just go from day to day
Knowing all about the other boys
You take my hand and tell me I'm a fool
To give you all I do
Bet you someday
Baby
Someone says the same to you
Just this once, twice, forever
'Cause baby
You could take me to heaven and back
Just as long as we're together
And you do
I don't want to play around
I don't want nobody's baby
Part-time love just brings me down
I don't need your freedom
Girl all I want right now is you
Just this once, twice, forever
'Cause baby
You could take me to heaven and back
Just as long as we're together
And you do
I don't need to play around
I don't want nobody's baby
Part-time love just brings me down
(I don't want your)
I don't want your
(I don't want your)
I don't want your
(I don't want your)
I don't want your
(I don't want your)
Oh...

Man, there's a lot of errors in this.
2nd line - it's "people sayING that you're no good for me" 3rd line - it's "Saw your lover with another" 5th line - it's "You'd deny it" 6th line - it's "But you laugh" Bridge - "But YOU know that'd I'd forgive..." 4th line of bridge - "drag me to hell", not "take me to heaven" Chorus - it's "nobody" not "nobody's" And on the 2nd chorus, it switches back to "I don't want your freedom" instead of need. If I could edit these lyrics, I would have. Otherwise, this song is awesome and it is SO catchy!

Funny, this song and "Credit Card Baby" reminds me a little of W. Somerset Maugham's book "Of Human Bondage". The protagonist falls for a woman who isn't in love with him and lets her run all over him. Only when she's in dire straits does she begin to want him, which by this time, he doesn't want to be with her, despite still spending money on her. Just an observation.
Cool song.

The organ that fades in at the opening of "Faith" is playing this song. I used to think of it as a sort of bridge from Wham! to his solo career, implying continuity. But I now tend to hear it as a funeral-ish farewell to his Wham! days.

It's about someone who loves another someone so much that he'd forgive anything she did to him. He'd rather be strung along by her than have his freedom - and he doesn't want anybody else, especially not for a short fling or one-night stand.

Would somebody please change the damn title of this to just Freedom? Because it's a pain in the ass when tryin to search for it!
