There's something about the way we fit
There's something about this psycho trip
There's something about the way we groove
Something's got me and I just can't seem to choose

I want you
I hate you
The one I love I hate
But the sex is great
The one I love I hate
But the sex is great
The one I love I hate
So I contemplate
The one I love I hate
But the sex is great

There's something about the way we slide
There's something about this psycho ride
There's something about the things we do
Something's got me and I just can't seem to choose

I want you
I hate you
The one I love I hate
But the sex is great
The one I love I hate
But the sex is great
The one I love I hate
So I contemplate
The one I love I hate
But the sex is great

One, two, fuck you
Never say no
I'm ready to go
We're out of control
But I can't let you go, let you go

There's something about the way we fit
There's something about this psycho bitch

The one I love I hate
But the sex is great
The one I love I hate
But the sex is great
The one I love I hate
I could suffocate
The one I love I hate
But the sex is great

I love to hate you
She know I love to hate you
She know I love to hate you
She know I love to hate you, hate you, hate you

Bitch

WHY THE HELL IS THERE NO FUCKIN' COMMENTS? I think this song is about you want something so bad but you fucking hate it (in there eyes a girl) they love the person but they also hate the shit out of them.... or this could also be about groupies... how there fucking rank as shit.

Well I personally think it's a lot deeper than that. Dope isn't the type of band to just hit something on the surface, they really seem to put some deep emotion and shit in their music, and that's what I love about them. I think bitch is about having a girl that you've been with for a long while (probably mostly a physical relationship) and then waking up one day to realize that you're really not compatible and you fight all the time, but the only reason you stay together is because you enjoy the sex with them. It's just a prime example of a love/hate relationship. Well, that's my take on it anywayz.

Dope's songs, sometimes, (please tool/soad/apc fans don't massacre me over this) can be metaphorical like tool or APC. Whether or not it's what the song means, oh well. If you delve deeper, it could be sex in a more emotional sense. You love the person, but the chemistry between you two is the best you've ever experienced.... sounds like my wife and I :D

It's about your mind and body having a power struggle. There always has to be a balance with that shit, and if there's not, well...it's not too good. Happens oh so often in this world of ours.

Like in that episode of Seinfeld where Jerry's metaphor for it is his brain and penis having a match of chess...hehe...that was a funny episode...

    But you get my point.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
