Well this never gets easier
Each second I'm further away from
Home now
Fears
The well drinks that soak my charade her
Heart played ending of movies but then entail
Ties that bind left a blanket of empty shells

Cover me
When I'm shivering
Cause its cold like
Winter in upstate
You've taken the warmth of my everyday
Home away
From the home homecoming, I don't anticipate
Cross your heart, your a liar, go fold your hands and walk away
While I lie awake
How I drug this mind to get some sleep unsuccessfully
Watching you die alone would make you, the girl of my dreams

But instead
The radio marches parades at
4 am
These anthems of hopeless heartache
Serves as a timeline of my life until I fail
In slow motion I watch you now cut the sail

Cover me
When I'm shivering
Cause its cold like
Winter in upstate
You've taken the warmth of my everyday
Home away
From the home homecoming, I don't anticipate
Cross your heart, your a liar, go fold your hands and walk away
While I lie awake
How I drug this mind to get some sleep unsuccessfully
Watching you die alone would make you, the girl of my dreams

Girl of my dreams
Never gets easier, Never gets easier

As she coward with sound
Behind the walls that surround this
Let go, will you feel it this time
Could be that woman
The one where I owe you my life

Girl of my dreams
(Girl of my dreams)
Never gets easier, Never gets easier

Never gets easier, Never gets easier

where's all the comments for Anadivine? c'mon now.. Anyways, this doesn't have Claudio's part of the song (only the best part of the whole album)

From what i gathered it's something like "so you cower with sound, in these walls that surroud this... let go, will you feel it this time.. could never be the moment..the one where i know you're my light"

..could be completely wrong though, whatever...

well i think this is a song about a relationship that has gone wrong.
"you've torn the warmth of my everyday world away" indicates that he's in a lot of pain because of this girl. She has done something wrong, "You're a liar girl, fold your hand and walk away". She hasn't been honest with him, so he wants her to leave and he wants it to end, even though he is not over her and isn't getting over her: "never gets easier" is repeated a heap of times, especially at the end. what's with the line "watching you die alone would make you the girl of my dreams"??? Does this mean that he wants her to suffer and not find anyone new as punishment for what she did to him, because he still loves her and is still hurting? Anyway, this is a really sad song, i like it...

    Here's Claudio's part:

As she coward with sound, behind the walls that surround this. Let go, will you feel it this time. Could there ever be that moment? The one where I owe you my life.

I think it transforms the song from good to amazing...

Alright, I've listened to this song for a countless number of times. My best friend introduced this song to me and at first, I wasn't really into it but then something about it just captivated me. From what I’ve gathered, this song is about a guy who is so in love with a girl who isn’t being true to herself. Here goes:

The first verse sings about how he’s far away from home, far away from her, and how much it hurts. I’m not sure about the fear part but I think it means he’s putting up a front but it’s slowly coming off. He gets more and more afraid that he won’t ever see her again, and that fear is soaking into his charade he puts on to pretend that he's ok.

He knows the girl he loves wants a beautiful ending, to live happily ever after, just like in the movies but everyone knows that’s fake. Therefore, these dreams of her’s leave her feeling empty.

“Cover me when I’m shivering Cause its cold like winter in upstate You've torn the warmth of my everyday world Away from the homecoming I don’t anticipate”

He’s not too keen on seeing her again (at the same time, he needs to if he ever dreams of another chance) because she had left him in a cold world of pain and this may repeat itself if he sees her and tries again.

“Cross your heart you're a liar girl Fold your hand and walk away While I lie awake How I drug this mind to get some sleep unsuccessfully”

This is the part where I believe he refers to the girl lying to herself and not to him. She actually really loves him but refuses to accept it and this causes him sleepless nights where he keeps on thinking about her and how they should be together.

“Watching you die alone would make you the girl of my dreams”

I’m not too sure about this part but I believe he hopes that she won’t ever find someone else…

“But instead the radio marches parades at 4am These anthems of hopeless heartache Serve as a timeline of my life until I fail”

Songs of heartbreak are the soundtrack to this guy’s life until he fails. I’m thinking he doesn’t want to give up on her so he’s singing how he’ll always be broken-hearted until he gets her or until it’s impossible to get her.

“In slow motion I watch you now cut the sail”

She doesn’t want anything to do with him anymore and so he sees her ‘cutting the sail’, cutting him off her life. He’s now lost for he has lost his sail that helps navigate the way.

“As she coward with sound behind the walls that surround this. Let go, will you feel it this time? Could there ever be that moment? The one where I owe you my life”

This is my favourite part. I believe its talking about how this girl is so afraid of her true feelings for this guy that she hides behind a wall. He wants her to let go, break the walls, and maybe she might feel him this time. He’s hoping for that moment when she’s no longer afraid and hoping she’ll feel the exact same way he does, just like the time he saw her and she made him feel alive.

Whew! Oh yeah, this song rocks.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
