Life it seems will fade away
Drifting further everyday
Getting lost within myself
Nothing matters no one else
I have lost the will to live Simply nothing more to give
There is nothing more for me
Need the end to set me free
Things not what they used to be Missing one inside of me
Deadly loss this can't be real
Cannot stand this hell i feel
Emptiness is filling me To the point of agony
Growing darkness taking dawn
I was me but now, he's gone
No one but me can save myself, but its too late
Now i can't think, think why i should even try
Yesterday seems as though it never existed
Death greets me warm, now i will just say goodbye

General CommentI love how people diss metallica for what they are today. Somehow that fucking changes how good their music was years ago? Die slowly. In a fire.

General CommentI think that's great what SONATA ARCTICA have done with this's a classic and they made even more beautiful...

Between the 2 verses they add a new flair to the song and at the end they make it a little more mellow...

But I have to say...the METALLICA ending is far more beautiful and sad....

General Commentlets see, altho SA is more melodic, the whole song but the second part of the song is more melodic and sad done by SA..

the whole song is more sad (or sadder, haha) done my metallica, kos SA doesn do it with such feeling until the second part.. n they add it more speed... the background sound n the guitar on the background between the verses (the heavy part) is nice as SA does it, but Metallica's way is more contrast. the contras of feelin down n depressed, n the other feeling of hate n rage... n besides, MEtallica is trash metal, so they gotta add the metal...

The endin of SA leaves u wantin the solo and the heavy part, but it leaves u feelin like ur in a dream, in a twighlight zone....

I love how my now-new fav. band remade a my favorite song of my old fav. band... hehe

General CommentSonata Arctica OWN this song. I'm sorry, but Metallica does not do it near as well as them. Metallica is a fan-boy based mainstream band these days, they've lost their moral value in society and proven they have no feel for the music, they're in it for the money (Napster, St. Anger, ect...) - Sonata Arctica does this song some heavy justics, where-as Metallica most definately did not.

General CommentMalachiAD: Metallica isn't just a fan-boy based band... their older stuff is still respected by old-school thrashers. St. Anger was meant to be an angry album, only it turned out to be a hunk of shit, but it wasn't made with the intention to make money... I mean, it's not like they're not rich enough. And Lars was the one who started the whole Napster thing, and he isn't even such a good drummer, so be mad at Lars but don't judge Metallica like that.

Anyway... The first part of this song is a lot better, but the second could have been better... not a huge Sonata Arctica fan myself, but I do respect them, and I think it's cool they did this cover.

General CommentThe Napster thing was only about the Mission Impossible soundtrack "I Disappear".
Metallica sued napster not because they were missing out on money, but because the money was supposed to go to charity.
    Get your facts straight people.

General CommentI personally prefer Sonata Arctica to Metallica on the whole, but quite frankly, the Metallica version pwns this version

General CommentI love this version more than Metallica's. Metallica has that uplifting part near the end, but Sonata has that really meloncholy ending which I love. "Ooh woah oh..."

And just because Nu-Metallica sucks nowadays, doesn't chagne the fact that Metallica's old albums (Kill 'Em All to And Justice For All) kick serious metal ass.

General CommentI want to start off saying I love Sonata Arctica they are my favorite band. and while I love what they did with the song I do agree the Metallica version has more feeling and anger to it. that being said its a damn good cover and proves that SA is an amazing band.

General Commentboth versions are excelent songs. amongst my fav ever but the SA does seem sadder even though at the end the solo is missed but i think SA did exactly what they set out to do when making this song.... that isgiving a sadder feel to the song to compliment the lyrics which are obviously about depression and thoughts of dying/suicide
