I need to be around you
I want to fall into your eyes
I love to feel you close to me
But there's no peace of mind
I live to hear you laughing
I long to feel your hands fall down
Along the side of me
A change of life is hard to find
There's no peace of mind

if you ever need somebody
If you ever need somebody to love you
If you ever need somebody
You can count on me

So kiss me for believing
Love me now for always knowing
When to let you go
A change of life is hard to find
There's no peace of mind

If you ever need somebody
If you ever need somebody to love you
If you ever need somebody
You can count on me

There's no peace of mind
Change is hard to find
Count on me

If you ever need, if you ever need
If you ever need, if you ever need
If you ever need somebody you can count on me

If you ever need somebody
If you ever need somebody to love you
If you ever need somebody
You can count on me

    Song Meaning

Hmm, its definitively a love song, but it seems like its a one way love.

I get the feeling that the main character loves someone and initially she loves him too, but she seems to grow away from him and because he loves her so much he is willing to let her go, but because of what they had he will always love her regardless and there is a place for her if she changes her mind.

    Or something like that :)

    Great song regardless

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Page

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again.
