Opened my eyes had a dream last night that both my arms were broken,
Evenin' time,
Help me now or hold me down, i feel my world is tumblin',
Spiral down,
Oh my love i can't let go,
Somethings wrong i can't let go,
Natures cruel she laughs at me,
As i make my way through the century,
As i slowly turn to house dust,
Tumblin' down,
The rain comes down like a victory,
In sheets of shinin' memory,
Over and over,
Circlin' around,
Over and over,
can't let go,
Somethings wrong i can't let go,
Natures cruel she laughs at me,
Almost too much for my heart,
When it rains,
Oh tears my soul apart,
When it rains it rains so slowly,
In the city where i'm from.

Oh my love i cant let go, Somethings wrong i cant let go, Natures cruel shes laughs at me, Almost too much for my heart, When it rains, Oh tears my soul apart, ...these lyrics make me think that it's about how he knows that he has to break up with a girl, but he loves her too much and doesn't want to let her go

-i'm probably totally wrong but that's just what i think, don't hesitate to correct me

im definitely sure this is something natural and im thinking along the lines of dying

Opened my eyes had a dream last night that both my arms were broken, Evening time, - hes near death Help me now or hold me down, i feel the world is tumbling, - cure me or help me die, hes almost dying, going through a rush of pain Spiralling down, - hes getting worse but cannot understand why Oh my love i cant let go, - he doesnt want to leave his wife or girl Somethings wrong i cant let go, - he loves her so much and doesnt want to die because he cant think how she will be if he dies Natures cruel she laughs at me, - doesnt understand why this is happening and blames nature. As i make my way through the century, - time has passed so slowly As i slowly turn to house dust, - his memories no longer exist and a long time has passed with him not at home Tumbling down, - hes so close to death The rain comes down like a victory, - hes almost there and can feel death which is described as rain In sheets of shining memory, - his life has flashed before him like photos which are sheets of happy memories Over and over,- getting to death is getting more an more intense Circling around, he tries to understand why it is happening Oh my love i cant let go, - his last words Somethings wrong i cant let go, - hes worried of her Natures cruel shes laughs at me, - like i said before Almost too much for my heart, - he cant handle it When it rains, - hes died Oh tears my soul apart, - when its raining the girl rememebrs him and breaks her heart When it rains, It rains so slowly - when it rains it brings back the memories and it feels like time is going so slowly perhaps because when were having a good time time flies past so quickly but when we are sad or bored time is so slow In the city, - he refers to the rushed and busy life style he was from Where i`m from. - which is what he was used to and now he's dead everything is so slow.

As i make my way through the century As i slowly turn to house dust

-That makes me think of growing old, skin cells fall off and create dust over the centuries

Somethings wrong i can`t let go, Natures cruel shes laughs at me, Almost too much for my heart,

-That makes me think of dying, he/she is dying and can't let go, and nature is making he/she

Wow aImeELitE that's amazing. It's really beautiful and ur meaning makes perfect sense....

It kind of reminds me of that song in the Titanic when the ship is sinking (no not Celine Dion..!).- Nearer To Thee God. It's sad and soo beautiful

I especially love the beginning and it's so sad it's creepy and heartbreaking. The ending is a bit confusing but any whooo.. Beautiful!!

I have no meaning but i believe aImeELitE's to be a very good description i never saw the dying scenario in my mind before all i ever imagined was him sitting by a window watching the rain while he thinks of a girl he loves but can't be with oh well i love this song, its beautiful

It sorta seems like some one broke up with her for no real reason, and she can't really handle it. Her worlds tumbling. Since there was no real explanation its hard for her to let go. And its all too much for her heart. The death thing seems more likely though I guess, that's just what it seemed like to me.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
